I was in the city when a friend’s friend recommended this restaurant, raving about the lamb she had last time. With such high praise, we decided to give it a try and ordered a mix of meals and appetizers to share. From the very first bite, it was clear that this place truly lived up to the hype—every dish exceeded expectations!
We ordered the Momo (dumplings), Tandoori Paneer (KTM spiced cottage cheese), Curry Bowl, Samosa, Lamb Cho, and Vegetable Pakora. The Pakora and Samosa came out first, and I could immediately tell they were fried in clean oil just by their light, golden color. The crispiness was perfect, and each bite was bursting with flavor. As we shared our dishes, it became obvious that every item was made with fresh, high-quality ingredients and carefully prepared. Not a single dish fell short—everything was delicious and well-balanced.
What really stood out, beyond the fantastic food, was the value. These days, it’s hard to find a restaurant where you feel like you’re truly getting your money’s worth. Prices are rising everywhere, and more often than not, you end up paying too much for a mediocre meal. But here, I felt the prices were fair, and the quality was outstanding. It was one of those rare dining experiences where you leave completely satisfied, not questioning whether it was worth it.
Oh, and while I didn’t personally check out the bathroom, both of my friends did, and they made a point to mention how spotless it was—which is always a great sign of a well-run restaurant!
If more places maintained this level of quality and care, I’d eat out way more often. Highly recommend giving...
Read moreI visited this restaurant after seeing a positive review from FoodGuru and was genuinely impressed by the delicious food, both the noodles and dumplings were excellent. The ambience is also lovely and creates a warm, inviting atmosphere. Congratulations on your new opening!
One aspect I think could be improved for an even better guest experience is staff communication. While I understand this is a South Indian restaurant and appreciate the authenticity, I did find it a bit challenging to communicate with the waitstaff due to their limited English. It made it difficult to ask questions about the menu, I could see that she was struggling to find the right words, and at times, their tone came across as unintentionally distant or disinterested, likely due to the language barrier. As someone who works in food critique and has spoken with many diners, I believe having bilingual staff or ensuring at least one fluent English speaker on the floor could make a big difference in helping all guests feel welcome and understood. It’s just a small adjustment that could have a big impact on your growing international customer base.
Overall, the food and environment were fantastic, and I look forward to seeing how this place continues to grow. Wishing you...
Read moreAbsolutely loved my dining experience at The KTM Kitchen in Chicago! This hidden gem brings the vibrant flavors of Nepal and India right to the heart of the Loop. From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff set the tone for an exceptional meal. I started with the Samosa Chaat and Chicken MoMo - steamed dumplings bursting with authentic KTM spices. The Bhatti ko Chowmein was another standout—stir-fried noodles seasoned to perfection . For the main course, we tried their Lamb Chops and Chicken Tikka Masala which were exceptional.
Another plus point, They offer discounted parking at nearby garage, making it convenient for diners to enjoy their meal without worrying about parking fees. Whether you're a fan of Nepali and Indian cuisine or looking to try something new, The KTM Kitchen delivers on all fronts. Delicious food, excellent service, and thoughtful amenities make this a must-visit spot in Chicago. I will definitely...
