This restaurant was a nice tasty takeout-dim sum style of food. The menu was simple, mostly a few types of buns, dumplings, and soups, but they didn’t need anything else, it had all of the delicious essentials one would want. We received super fast service, and the restaurant was very clean. The Xiao Long Baos are different than at most places, a bit less like a thin dip dumpling and a bit closer to a mini bao, but they were still very tasty and honestly better than a standard Xiao Long Bao for takeout because it’s more sturdy and not as fragile. We had the option of having them steamed or pan fried - we chose pan fried and it was a great choice, I highly recommend, I think it works really well for this style of Xiao Long Bao. We also got the veggie buns which were tasty too and had a good crisp on the bottom, making for a great modern take on bun texture. Overall a very tasty experience, I would love to get take out from here more often if I were entertaining friends, and won’t hesitate to come here both with others and alone...
Read moreThis is one the worst places to dine out. The environment everyone talks about is okay if young kid server and his team don’t gossip about you. For example, every diner at the restaurant could tell how much they don’t like the WAY YOU EAT YOUR FOOD!! One of the servers, on the younger side if not the youngest, after handing me my food, proceeded to go around the corner and complain about my noisy eating. I come from strict family that cared a lot about table etiquette, and I eat with my mouth closed and try not to make much noise. He may have thought I didn't hear him but I sure did! He then proceeded to take his phone out and sneak pictures or videos of me. After uncomfortably finishing my dishes I saw him making faces before coming to take my dishes. During my whole dining experience, he had many sarcastic remarks which made me very uncomfortable. The food tasted...
Read moreWe took the Water Taxi to Chinatown and walked to Legend Dumpling and Bao. This is a simple do-it-yourself cafe where you order and pay at a machine (or you might prefer to order from the cashier person) and help yourself to silverware, chopsticks, napkins, and dipping sauces - which are on a side shelf, and hot tea and water -- which are on the front window sill. We got steamed bao, fried bao, dumplings, and spring rolls. It was fun to try a variety of items. Each steamer basket contained 4 big bao buns, which was perfect since there were 4 of us. We got some veggie and some meat. We arrived mid-afternoon and were the only customers. By the time we left, the place was packed with people. If you can hit it between lunch and dinner, you will probably get in. After you eat, please clear your table and toss your own trash, just as you would...
