Terrible service and terrible food/drinks. First of all, they served me wine that was expired months ago. When I kindly asked the bartender for a new glass, he said “well you’re at a pub what do you expect?”…. How about you don’t offer wine on the menu in the first place?

Anyways, I decided to go back today because it’s local to my apartment and I was wanting a beer. The servers were incredibly rude to my boyfriend and I when we asked about tables and getting some water. The waitress with the red hair yelled at me for serving myself water when it was very unclear whether that was the patrons job or the server (many bars in Chicago have a water station you go to yourself). She could have easily just been nice about it and could have told me she would serve me herself. There’s also garbage everywhere especially in the outdoor seating area (see photo…. Gross! Pick it up if you’re going to be rude to your patrons at least). This establishment is a joke and I would highly recommend not wasting your money. The food is sub par but it really comes down to the atmosphere and service. Do...

We started going to this bar back in 2021, it was so fun and a welcome outdoor area with great Covid safe protocols and decently priced beers! Once the world started opening back up and we could enjoy a beverage indoors, we were frequent customers and loved the bartenders/door guys! Unfortunately in the past couple of years, the draft beer tastes awful. I wonder when they last cleaned the tap lines. We haven’t been frequenting the place in the past few years for that reason, today we thought it would be fun to stop in for a bottled beer and watch a football game from the outside patio area, but the bouncer was very unclear when explaining that the entire bar was reserved for a private party, and kinda rude tbh. We asked if we could grab a beer and sit outside and he said “that’s reserved for a private party” so I said “oh cool ok can we grab a beer at the bar inside instead?” And he said “find another bar and ask them, I don’t care.” Whatever, we won’t be back because the food isn’t good and neither are the draft beers so I recommend not even...

My experience at O’Leary Public House during the Spain vs. Germany soccer game was nothing short of disappointing. Despite several patrons, including myself, politely requesting to have the sound on to enjoy the match, we were met with extreme rudeness and disrespect from the bartender. Instead of accommodating paying customers who simply wanted to watch the game with sound, she chose to argue with us in a rude and unprofessional manner.

The atmosphere quickly soured due to her confrontational attitude and complete lack of customer service skills. It's unacceptable to treat customers this way, especially when a simple request for a bit of sound adjustment should be handled with professionalism and courtesy.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend O’Leary Public House to anyone. The management should seriously reconsider their staff training and customer service policies if they wish to retain loyal customers. I regret spending my time and money at a place that clearly does not value...

We spent an evening here (travelled to Chicago from Cornwall, England) and had a fabulous time. Bartenders Kirsten and Chelsea were amazing--friendly and fun--and Gus at the door was kind enough to pass a message to a guy my friends had been admiring from afar!! He was married (sad times) but bought us a drink and stopped by to chat a bit...as did quite a few in the venue that night. As my friends and I had originally met in our own local pub back home, it was great to find an equally welcoming place in Chicago! Any negative reviewers must be antisocial and not familiar with the English/Irish practice of actually talking to people in pubs!! Definitely a 10/10 night out. We spent quite a bit there as we just couldn't leave! Prices were probably average, but less than we'd anticipated.

On a recent business trip to Chicago a group of us found ourselves ready to let loose after a long Friday. We went to O'Leary's, a fun Irish Pub with attitude, atmosphere, and great service. The place was packed but the staff found a table for our group. Surprisingly we had stumbled onto an Irish Pub with signs, flags and anything you can think of showing support for a football team in Wisconsin! O'Leary's loves the Green Bay Packers. The next time you are looking for a fun place, I recommend checking out O'Leary's.
