Very disappointing experience. This place is poorly managed and coordinated. There were a total 3 staffs when I was there and all the ordering is handled through their website (which automatically charged me a 15% tip!!!!!!! ).
Basically all staff A does is just writing the order detail and customer's name on the cup, staff B has to make all the drinks and staff C does nothing but putting lids on the drinks and sometimes (not always) bring to the pickup window. There are constantly drinks waiting for lids on the counter and Staff C is usually absent.
The result is super low efficiency. We ordered a signature milk team without any toppings (which took like 1 min to make based on observation) but we had to wait for 30 min (same for most other customers today).
After waiting 15 min, we decided to cancel the order and ask for a refund at the counter. However, staff C seems to have no idea about how to look up our order with the order number. When they finally found our order, they simply said "your order is up next", and disappeared into the back. Now it's another 15 min wait with multiple orders served in front of ours before we finally got this bland milk tea with some artificial rose flavoring. Even though we asked for low ice, there was still almost half a cup of ice in the end.
This is the first and last time I will ever order at this place and I suggest everyone avoid this place as much. RUN...
Read moreDrinks were good but pricy. They do come in a high quality plastic stcontainer though. Drinks were well prepared by the sole employee present. She was busy.
You have to order first online. They wont do any transactions over the counter. Once you order, the drinks do come out fast.
I got the sunrise and the Tea'mo o2. The Sunrise was a litlle sour being a mix of mango and strawberry but good.
The o2 on the other hand was great. I am not a big fan of jellies in my drink but these actually have both flavor and texture. Not sure that makes sense but that was something that astounded me. Other than that it was a pleasant tea like drink. I recommend getting that not only it is visually appealing but tastes great as well.
The place is located on the third level of the Shops at North Bridge Mall. We entered from the signage posted on North Michigan Avenue. We had to take an elevator upwards and have to enter and exit the Lao Sze Chuan restaurant to get to the food court area where the business was located.
Giving 4 stars since it cost me 14 dollars for both drinks. Again pricy...
Read moreQuite frankly I don't do the Boba type of thing, I do however enjoy Chinese food, being that this is an extension of Lao Sze Chuan restaurant sit down located directly across the food court from it, I thought I might give a try the limited items from Lao Sze Chuan on offer a try. Which took about a month for them to figure out how a food court kiosks work.... long story short it took about 4 weeks for them to realize a better way to operate a kiosk as opposed to a sit down style restaurant, though even still needs to be fined tuned more.
The staff is friendly, though not entirely helpful or knowledgeable about about what it takes to run a kiosk as compared to a sit down style restaurant. So they may need a manager that can understand how to work a kiosk and make it work.
The items on offer are rather limited, though tasty are a little on the smallish size for the price point, at least slightly. The Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Chicken are tasty.
In closing hopefully they will add a couple more dishes to the kiosk as well as slightly larger portions for...
