This place is located right across the street from my office so I can't say I haven't been tempted to drop in a few times and snag some new trinkets for my office desk. Pop Mart toys are always well made and really great looking. The staff during my few visits have been just fine; today's staff at time of writing was very friendly. Previous reviews have mentioned that customers aren't greeted when entering the shop; today I was greeted as well as wished farewell to which is always nice to hear, even if it's not necessary.
I haven't yet encountered this nightmarish manager that many other reviews talk about, so not sure if he still works there. Rest assured, if I ever did encounter him and he were to power trip on me over toys, this review will be edited to oblivion to incorporate that experience.
If you're a normal human being that doesn't scalp, make sure to avoid Labubu release days. I have seen people lined up here the night before a morning Labubu release. There have been fights elsewhere in the world over these stupid Labubus and I would not put it past the reseller community in Chicago, downtown nonetheless, to bring their degeneracy here if so inclined to.
Lunchtime shopping is busy but easy to navigate. It's a small store; smaller than some of the other Pop Mart locations in the Chicagoland area.
I'm only taking a star off because 2 out of the 4 times I have been there, they have run out of bags/receipt paper which seems like an avoidable problem. I was less concerned about the receipt and more concerned about not having a bag, but fortunately I only buy 1 or 2 blind boxes in one go. It would be really nice to just not have that issue in the...
Read moreI recently visited Pop Mart in Fashion Outlet in Rosemont and let me tell you, it was an experience I wouldnât wish on my worst enemy!
About the employees. I approached one for help, I placed order on line and just came for pick up, Lady with sky blue hair went behind and came back, she couldn't find a order and told me that manager need to assist but the manager was somewhere outside (that is what she told me). After 15 minutes of waiting I politely asked her to call her manager on the cell phone, and she told me that she doesn't have her cell with her (another lie, today 7 years old doesn't go anywhere without the phone, specially not manager of a retail store). But after 30 minutes 2 ladies showed up, you guess from the back of the store not on the front door what should happened if they where in the mall. Girl with red blush, as she act like she is in charge, I asked her about my issue with picking up on line order, and besides she being unpolite and rude she told me (after I mention that I'm waiting for 30 minutes) that I'm not waiting that long, so she was aware of everything just playing around and told me that this toy is in other storage somewhere in the mall and that need to go to get it, end finally when after 10 minutes she brought a toy, she didn't even put it in a bag, just gave it to me. Not sure how this store operate with those kind of employees. For sure will never ever step inside this store.
Overall, my experience at Pop Mart was a complete disaster. If you enjoy chaos, wasting time indifferent employees, and overpriced toys, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, save yourself the trouble and shop...
Read moreIâve been to this location twice now. The first time was on a random weekday and was a pleasant experience. They had the Pucky plush keychains I wanted. The second time was unfortunately not as enjoyable. It was on a Saturday afternoon. I expected it to be busy, and we waited in line. I felt like I was going to a night club. The employee at the line was friendly and engaging. He told us when to go in and gave us advice. He told us to buy things online and pick them up in store if we really want them. This is especially important if you want a Labubu because they sell out so quickly. My friends and I browsed and purchased a few things. I was standing with my purchased item waiting for my friends to finish up when an employee with an emo haircut came up and asked me if I was done. I told him I was waiting for my friends. He asked me if I could go wait outside because they had a line. I looked around and saw plenty of other folks standing around like me. Probably because they were waiting for their friends, kids, etc. I turned my face away from him and just muttered âokay.â I then went up to my friends and told them what happened. We observed this employee for the next ten minutes, and he didnât approach others about leaving the store like he did to me. I felt disrespected and targeted despite being a paying customer. This store is not likely to have what youâre looking for, the employees seem burnt out, and itâs tiny. Youâre better off driving to the suburbs to find a better Pop Mart. Try Rosemont, Woodfield Mall, Orland Square Mall, and...
