Down Lo — Restaurant in Chico

I love the download that's where I met the man that became my loving husband and I love dearly to this day. And before that I used to go down there from time to time all the way back to the 80s.

I always like the atmosphere there and the people are awesome including the drink servers. there is no other place quite like the down low, or as I affectionately nicknamed it the low down.

I liked it for a kinky atmosphere. It is kind of like used to be called the dive or what used to be hella popular in New York City!

I love down there and hope it never changes and is always there to visit from time to time. it is a welcome respite from the Heat and all the other weather elements of Butte County.

I hope by giving it such a great Accolade that it doesn't make it so popular that it ruins it...

Cool place to chill and play some pool. Every time i’ve been here we easily get a table, so no waiting. The drinks are good, but the food i can’t say because I have never ordered any. The kitchen looks messy and im really picky when it comes to my food and the how it’s being prepared. Cleanliness is HUGE for me. The cook was wearing gloves but was grabbing dirty kitchen rags, pulling up his pants, grabbing pans, cooking utensils, pulling bread out of bags and then handling the food and serving it like that. Nahhhh what’s the purpose of wearing gloves then. It’s a hard pass for me. Aside from that, the bartenders are friendly and quick and its a cool place if you like playing pool and i’m still going back im not gonna lie because i go for the pool...

My previous post is still true. I haven't been in The DownLo in forever, since I quit drinking, but it hasn't really changed. Ariel is still a badass, and the staff is still super cool and supportive of my sobriety. Like Toby Keith said "I Love ❤️ This Bar!!"

The DownLo is, hands down, my favorite and the BEST BAR IN CHICO !! Being a good bar is about the atmosphere and the service you get, and everyone at the DownLo is really cool and they provide great service. I dont know how "Rileys" was voted the "#1 College Bar," because Rileys S** A compared to the DownLo. They play decent music, have DJs and other live music, and I'm glad they reopened so I can go there when I want to go hang out...
