I went to made in Chico with my mom and niece who is in college. I am half black and half white so have very brown skin. I was followed in this store from the minute I walked in for no reason. I do not tolerate micro-aggressions and I would never go to this place again after experiencing racial bias.I want to make it clear that there were plenty of other people there for them to pay attention to, but they honed in on me. Wish they would gift wrap sale items or even give some sort of Made In Chico tag to attach to gift items. Wanted to give 3 sale items as gifts, but with no tag or bag showing that the item is new and from a business, it looks like I just pulled a random used item out of my closet to give as a gift. Plus, it would be free advertise for Made In Chico. It’s the little things like that which keep people coming back or not coming back. Getting denied tags or bags or something to present items with seems silly, especially when I made a specially trip back to the store on a slow day to ask.
