Savor Ice Cream — Restaurant in Chico

The smell of freshly baked gluten free/ vegan waffle cones is comforting and inviting. Don't let the terms gluten free and vegan food you as these cones are as tasty as they smell.

There are two distinct menus, dairy free and dairy based. Both are unique and all menu items are handmade. They offer free samples to help facilitate your choice. The new flavors as of 5/17/23 are lavender and a strawberry for the dairy free and a balsamic strawberry for the dairy lovers. There are several other flavors of both types to choose from.

I would recommend the $12 taster sampler. It is four flavors of your choice served in glass cups with gold spoons on a heavy board. The presentation is quaint and the serving size is perfect. This is definitely shareable. The gold spoons are also for sale. I think they make the experience even more delightful.

There is seating available inside as well as outside. They have disposable bowls and spoons or as previously mentioned the portable warm and very delicious waffle cones are great option if you want to take this delectable desert home or for a walk around the area. A big ‘SHOUT OUT’ to the new ice cream joint that opened a few weeks ago at Meriam Park, Savor Ice Cream. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the gracious owner who told us his wife makes all the ice cream herself! Savored every last drop of this DEEElicious ice cream! Welcome to Chico! Thankful for our very own local, vegan, organic, gluten free, made from scratch ice cream using local, seasonal, quality ingredients, and offering dairy and vegan varieties. Using Straus whole milk no less! Easily one of the BEST ice creams we have tried. EVER! We had Chico Chai, Salted Caramel, and Pumpkin Spice. Seriously can’t decide which one was better. My girlfriend and I were visiting some friends in Chico for the weekend and came for some later evening ice cream at Savor. She has Celiac disease so she cannot have gluten. We chose this place specifically because they offer all gluten free ice creams as well as waffle cones (unheard of). When we got there, the very kind gentleman behind the counter told us they were out for the night. After talking a little, the gentleman told us they would be more than happy to make my girlfriend a waffle cone as a fellow gluten free friend.
