Tacos El Pinolero — Restaurant in Chico

I've put this review off for a long time. I've frequented this food truck a few times over the last 20yrs...but it's time to spread the word. I'm highly disappointed at the food, as it HAS declined in taste and value. I picked up 8 tacos...4 chicken and 4 beef (pictured). 1st, they only offer beef, chicken, pork, and lengua...NO Barbacoa. 2nd, the meat can be dry and overcooked, and that's why they rely on a green sauce to top-off the tacos. Consistency can also be a problem as well, whether it's the onions and cilantro, or the same amount of meat on each. And while the tortillas are grilled, they can be burned if left on the grill too long. The addition of radish slices aren't really necessary...I'd prefer carrots. Prices are $1.25 per Taco, even ON Tuesday. It used to be better food, but I'm sorry to say they've become complacent in their position. I try not to write bad reviews, as this is a persons lively hood. My husband and I tried them, for the first time on Sunday. And as they were the only one open. We gave it a shot. We were highly disappointed. We got 2 tocas each, two chicken and two Al Pastor. Along with chicken burrito. The chicken tasted like it came out of a can. We cut the burrito in half. My husband pulled a large chicken skin out of his half of the burrito. The Al Pastor was not Al pastor it was carnitas. As Al Pastor doesn’t come with onions. Usually delicious and satisfied with service but recently ordered 4 different tacos on 2 different plates. They got my order wrong and I didn't notice until driving all the way back home.
