There are places you hear about in whispers. Reverent mentions in passing, like someone revealing a secret church where the sermon is sugar, and the communion is crisp, cold, and unapologetically indulgent. For me, that whisper led to Snowy Village on Grand Avenue in Chino Hills, a modest-looking dessert haven that could’ve easily been mistaken for just another trendy café if not for the sheer intensity of joy happening inside.
We drove in from Orange County. Call it a pilgrimage, if you will. And Snowy Village didn’t just live up to the hype—it knocked it out cold, packed it in shaved milk, and topped it with fruit, condensed milk, and magic.
Let’s start with the Bingsu. This isn’t your basic shaved ice with a couple of strawberries thrown on top. This is Korean-style shaved snow, ethereal and silky, almost evaporating on your tongue, but somehow still carrying depth and richness. • Matcha was earthy and complex, balanced between bitter green tea and sweet cream—like a Zen monk wearing a velvet robe. • Assorted fruit felt like summer exploded in your mouth—fresh, juicy, and layered on a mountain of frozen snow like a technicolor avalanche. • And the banana crunch? Pure nostalgia. Like banana bread had a lovechild with a caramel sundae and decided to make it a celebration.
But then came the French Taiyaki—and man, if you haven’t had a croissant waffle in the shape of a fish, filled with sweet red bean or Nutella, you haven’t lived right. The exterior: flakey, buttery, and crackling like a thousand layers of pastry. The inside: warm, molten, devastatingly good.
The Mochiaki, their mochi waffles, blur the lines between chewy and crisp in the best way possible. It’s the kind of bite that sticks with you—literally and emotionally. Sweet, dense, crispy on the edges—like a waffle that went to Tokyo and came back cooler than you.
And don’t sleep on the breakfast croissants. Savory in a place that does sweet so well might feel like a gamble, but it’s more like a flex. Rich, layered, golden pastry hugging eggs, cheese, and whatever else they’ve decided to stuff inside. It’s indulgence with intent.
Here’s the thing—Snowy Village doesn’t care about your diet. It’s not here to cater to trends or gimmicks. It’s here to do what it does best: absolutely wreck your willpower with craftsmanship, quality, and a full-throttle love of dessert. The kind of place where you sit down thinking you’ll “just try one thing” and wind up licking Bingsu off your phone case two hours later because your hands were too full of croissants and mochi waffles to hold it properly.
The pictures online? They don’t do this place justice. Hell, even this review might not. You have to taste it. You have to hear the crunch of that taiyaki shell, watch the snow melt into condensed milk waterfalls, and feel your eyes close involuntarily because yes, it’s that good.
Don’t walk here. Run. Snowy Village isn’t just the best dessert in Southern California. It’s a moment—and one you’ll want to relive...
Read moreWe stopped in for an order to go. I ordered a Mango Bingsu, my usual, and received rotten gummy like mangos. When I called and asked for a refund, they told me they had to check with the kitchen staff, then said I would have to drive back and show them. Ok, an inconvenience but I guess I understand. When I get there and show them they agreed to refund my order but offered no apology and when I asked “would you eat something that looks like this?” The girl replied annoyed “yes I would eat that”.
The lack of customer service and the fact they think old brown fruit is acceptable to eat is extremely disappointing.
There is a lack of customer service here. I hope I’ll be able to go back to snowy village and receive the customer service and fresh treats they use to offer, but for now...

Came here one night to satisfy dessert cravings and it was a nice experience. We ordered at the window and sat down. The place is small only a few tables. The orders came out pretty fast which I appreciated. We got the strawberry cheesecake one and it was pretty good. Layered with thin slices of strawberry and cheesecake bites with condensed milk. It was a tad too sweet. We wanted something salty and they had these French tayaki, we ordered 3 different ones. The ham and cheese and the pepperoni and cheese were both very delicious, the crust was soft and flaky, baked well. Were the third one we got Nutella and banana, that one wasn't very good. I would not recommend it.
Overall nice experience. Parking could get kind of...
