I laughed at the idea of Cravings by 99 Ranch thinking that they can compete with Costco. My husband and I, we walked aisle by aisle trying to find some cool stuffs to buy, NOTHING. We couldn't find ANYTHING that worth to buy. If you're looking for instant noodles, this is the place. They have like 50 types of noodles. From China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia... You name it, they have it. Lol. Prices are mostly higher than regular 99 Ranch, from seafood to meat to vegetables to fruits... Is this a joke or what? You can get cheaper at markets nearby like Aldi, Sprout, Smart and Final... Just name a few. Bored with warehouse, we walked over to the food court to check out Shominoods Ramen Bar. I ordered a CALIKATA ramen, it's Hakata Tonkatsu ramen with 1 SLICE of belly pork and green onions. It tasted awful. Noodle was undercooked, pork belly was nothing but a piece of fat. Yuck. My husband got a Spicy Miso Ramen. Same awful taste of soup with a bit of spicy sauce and his noodle was overcooked, so soggy. We couldn't finish it although we were hungry. Beside, it took us 30 minutes to get these nasty taste noodles. What a waste of 30 minutes of our life. I think I'll stick with Shinsengumi if I ever craving for a REAL ramen. I understand they try to make this place looks hip with modern decor, BUT, they failed big time. Food is overpriced, yet, they gave you CHEAP disposable chopsticks and spoons. I have never been in any places that give you cheap usetensils like this place. Beside, tables were dirty. Imagine it's only open for just a week? I don't think I...
Read moreSo many ups and downs regarding this location. Sometimes I feel like I walk in with to high of expectations, maybe that's because I have a deep love for fusion foods. My family and I ate at two locations. I've also dined here on two previous occasions. Nothing more memorable than my first time. I'll speak only on today's visit.
Mad Bun - The fried chicken sandwich was amazing, our food took 15min to come, I'd expect to be greeted by a fresh hot chicken center. Fried insinuates heat.....It was Luke warm. The breading was delicious even served room temp. The pickled onions and sauces were perfect, all cohesive. The meal would have been a 10 of 10 with fresh warm chicken.
The pork belly fries - if you dont mind some fat here and there, these are and have always been amazing, both times I've had them.
Dos chinos - I had a Korean taco, unfortunately i have nothing good to report. Their dulce leche taco my daughter had FIRE!! That was just amazing.
I'd eat here again, during crunch time, when they have to pump out fresh food...
Read moreI'm not really sure how to describe this place. But it's a warehouse that's divided into 2 set-ups. One side that sells all kinds of snacks and chips packaged in bulk. And another side is a fastfood chain that caters varying fusion cuisine. Something new to try but not sure if it was something I would frequent. I don't find the set-up comfy. The layout plan looked very busy and a bit disorganized. So the seating arrangement was not put together. There were seats that were hidden on the side, so if you were seated there, and waiting for more members to come in, chances were, the meet up would be confusing. The foods were mixed emotion as well. The Chicken and Fries were great. The Japanese restaurant wasn't. The Asian Fusion was just an ok. Not something to look forward too. There are better places in the area that you can get better tasting foods, better ambience, and great seating area for the same price or maybe a slight difference. For me, dining is not just about food. It's also about comfort and ease of seating. Then...
