Do I like the service from Rita at the checkout? The answer is NO! The experience at TJ Maxx in Chino was not very pleasant on this trip. There was a product from HomeGoods with two different sticker prices, and I asked if it was possible to do a price match. She said no. Usually, the cashier would have to ask the manager for approval, but instead, she insisted that cannot be done. Ok??!!! In most cases, the manager will approve the price match to ensure customer satisfaction. Later, after she had scanned all the products, the total cost was $250, and she was forcing me to open a TJ credit card. I repeatedly said no, I didn't need it, and she was highly aggressive, pushing me to open so that I could save some money. Which part of 'NO' does she not understand? I have been shopping at this TJ Maxx location for almost 10 years, and I know most of the girls at the cashier, including the one servicing the fitting room. I was waiting for my favorite girls, Caridad and Claudia, but they were both on their break. So, I took a chance with Rita since she's been working there forever. It was the biggest mistake; she literally ruined my shopping day: 1.) would NOT PRICE MATCH, 2.) pushing customers to open a TJmaxx card, and 3.) Interestingly enough, at the final wrap, she requested that I provide her with a review, so here is my honest feedback!
Rita must think she is doing a great job working with NO common sense. I repeatedly see her irritating other customers with her excessive pushing and shoving tactics, which often lead buyers to...
Read moreIt's sad that I have to give one star, because the jumpsuit that I bought here is my favorite piece now.
We shopped here on 4th Decembre and the lady at the register Kira or Kyra sold us a credit card as a "reward card". We are 20 and 23 with barely any credit history whatsoever. So right now we we are trying very hard to build credit and definitely don't want a credit card. We are only just learning about credit score. I asked the lady if this was an application for a credit card. She said "No." She asked us to enter our social security number, which I thought was weird and I asked her this time "Is this gonna be a hard inquiry", and she said "No, nothing like that." I don't know how much clearer I could've been. And sure enough, when we called the number they told us that they had run a hard inquiry and on the same day our FICO score had dropped. I don't know whether the employees get a commission or bonus or any other kind of incentive, but if it's a reason for them to simply lie to your face, then maybe this should be improved. I felt extremely upset then, and I must say that our shopping here turned into a very...
Read moreMy husband and I visited this store yesterday. We were followed around the store and asked by several employees many times if we needed help. As a black couple we are accustomed to this. We just moved here from NC. Then as we were checking out a manager asked to help us by taking hangers off of our clothes in my opinion to see what was in our cart. I have shopped at MANY Home Goods and TJ Maxx stores and this has never happened. Also the older lady that checked us out asked were our items together or seperate. It is clear we are married (I have a VERY large diamond wedding band and my husband wears a ring as well) We are used to the assumption we are NOT married AND being followed around stores (It's part of being black) however they did not even attempt to hide the fact the they were watching us like hawks. I wont be going back and plan to report this...
