As a person who has worked in the service industry, I have never been harsh on service or given bad reviews because of service was not perfect when I eating in any restaurants. If it weren't for the terrible experience tonight, I would not even want to waste my time writing this bad review. I don't expect having five-star service in a small restaurant, but I have never encountered a restaurant with such bad service! I arrived at the restaurant around 8:30 this evening and saw a sign at the door saying "please wait to be sit". Although there were seats in the restaurant, I still filled in the waitlist on the iPad at the door. However, because the waitlist showed that we were the first party and there were still many empty seats in the restaurant, I stood at the door and waited, and kept trying to make eye contact with two servers . However, although I said hello to a male waiter, he ignored me, so my friend and I had to find a seat by ourselves. After sitting down, we placed an order from the website. A few minutes later, the fried chicken was delivered to our table. It tasted good, but it was very salty, so we took the initiative to ask the waitress for our ice water. Although the waitress's attitude was good, what I want to express is that in any restaurant, even if there is no good service, isn't it the most basic action to serve ice water to your customers ? After that, we only ask the waitress to put out the fire for us, then no one came to help us pour water or ask. The funny thing is that when we walked in, the waiter looked busy and kept filling water with a big kettle! Before the meal was over, the server who didn't come over during the whole meal was able to keenly notice that my hot pot was almost finished and took the initiative to bring us the bill. I even wondered if they were closing the business, but they weren't. There were still 20 minutes before the restaurant closed. If you can notice it before we didn't actively ask for our check, how can you not notice it when we kept looking at you, greeting you, and even standing at the door when we needed help? All in all, the food tasted okay, but if you don't want to experience a dining experience that is not as good as “fast food service”, save your money! Go to...
Read moreplace!!! Normally, most people would judge on the hot pots to determine whether the restaurant is good or not, but I believe it's the little details that defines a great restaurant. Their homemade sauce is amazing! Unfortunately I ordered a spicy pot so I couldn't really have as much sauce as I want on the food (the spicy Taiwanese pot is awesome!) Also, unlike the boiling point which a lot of people go to, they have a decent variation of drinks! I value drinks a lot when having a meal. A good drink would bring out the appetite. They have iced tea, milk tea, slush, and most importantly milky slush!! They come with a lot of taste choices including my favorite rose flavor!
Now the main part: their pots! My Taiwanese spicy pot came in large size which is perfect for me and my appetite. I have visited a lot of other hot pot places and ordered spicy pot, but they are usually not even spicy at all which got me so disappointed. And this time I finally got the spicy taste that I wanted in this savory pot. It's also not too spicy to stop me from eating and drink some water. Their control of spice is perfect!
One regret that I have is that I did not try their appetizers since I was afraid that I cannot finish. Their good pots now makes me wonder how good can their appetizers be. I would DEFINITELY visit again SOON and I wish everyone can have the opportunity to try this amazing...
Read moreThis place is pretty good! I would say anyone that likes Boiling Point, this is a great alternative. It isn’t franchised as far as I know, and the soup I believe feels more natural. Maybe there is less msg or something. The few times I have ordered here, it has been quite decent, the people taking order or collecting payment could definitely be nicer though.
Food I usually order the Japanese Miso, and would recommend that to anyone that visits here. If you get to go, they pack it in a way where is is white easy for you to open and get ready to eat. Even if you order vermicelli, it is nicely packed where you can just dump it in your soup. There is a LOT of food, to the point where I can use the rest of the broth and make another soup out of it. I think the only thing better is that they could use just a little better shrimp, so that it still feels fresh.
They have a bean sauce as well as a garlic sauce that comes with each soup similar to Boiling Point, and it is just as good!
One day I will try some of the other soups, but it is quite hard since I am not able to come here that often. We will...
