Normally a Favorite, But This Visit Missed the Mark We’ve always enjoyed visiting this spot—great location, fun vibes, and usually solid food. Unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to expectations. The restaurant seemed noticeably understaffed, particularly on the service side, and many items—both on the specials board and the regular menu—were unavailable, having already been 86’d. I ordered the mussels, but nearly half were either empty or completely closed. While the side of fries was decent, it took less than five minutes to finish the mussels due to the lack of edible portions. I mentioned this to our server, and the response was a bit puzzling—we were offered 50% off since “the mussels had been eaten,” even though the issue was that many of them weren’t edible to begin with. In any case, the closed shells ended up being a treat for the tarpons. The weekly Wednesday crab races are always a fun time, and we’ll definitely be back for those. That said, this experience was a letdown. If you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend avoiding Sunday evenings or late-night visits, especially during the transition to low season, when stock and staff may be stretched thin.

We went here for lunch after coming back from a snorkeling trip and the food was amazing! To be honest probably on the top three we tried in that area. The Microbrewery setting gives a great vibe to combine a tap room and the beach. The view from the boardwalk and pier is breathtaking. I loved sitting there drinking a cold beer and eating delicious food. We tried the special of the day which was a ceviche and also a tune sandwich, we also tried the tune bites and coconut shrimp and everything was delicious!!! Honestly it was a great combo of food/drink and views. The staff was very friendly, the food was served quickly but also you need to remember that they are on "island time" which is a bit slow that our normal lives, you have also a good selection of cocktails. If you have some leftover bread, you can feed the fishes right there at the pier, they are waiting for you! Great place, I highly recommend it 🔥🔥🔥

Brew STX was pretty cool and all the employees were really chill and kind! The food that we had was fantastic (Brussels sprouts are bomb) and I was very appreciative that they were accommodating and gave the option to grill and batter our fish tacos (one each) since my boyfriend and I split the meal and had different preferences. Drinks were so good! Cruzan Confusion was probably my favorite. The location and view is wonderful as well. I took off a star because I was so excited to come to the island which had a lot of Caribbean influence and get some Caribbean music (not just reggae) and some Caribbean food (seasoned rice, beans, fried/boiled plantain and so much more) however, it was all mainly American food on the boardwalk in general and Bree STX played like, Creed and Nickelback and other similar music..which is cool…just not what I had expected for an Island with so much rich culture to appreciate.

I visited Brew STX in early Jan 2023. When I arrived, I sat on the side of restaurant (I was meeting with a friend) west of the bar. There were two waitresses and a bartender. No one acknowledged my presence. The two waitresses went by me multiple times and I was not offered a menu for at least 10 minutes. No one followed up in a greeting, offered what I would like to drink. I waited to provide my order for at least 15 minutes, NO ONE acknowledged my presence. Finally I placed my order at the bar. My meal took about 30 minutes or more to come out. I ordered one of the rice bowls with teriyaki sauce, which was entirely too salty (it was just soy sauce) and ruined my meal. No one checked on me, or brought my check. Meanwhile, the whole time I'm watching the waitresses seat, bring drinks, bring food, bring the check, to multiple folks who arrived of me, folks of a certain color too. Eventually I paid at the bar. I was so upset I left without my card. Finally, one of the waitresses acknowledged I was there and called me back.

I am a local, I grew up on St. Croix my whole life. I have never eaten at Brew before and I CERTAINLY will never again, and will advise real islanders to not...

Ordered a chicken sandwich with bacon. Evidently since I didn't order alcohol first, the waitress had an attitude. It was our first meal of the day so I eat before I drink. The waitress seemed annoyed that I even asked for something non-alcoholic and was short with us the rest of the visit. The iced tea was spoiled and when I got the chicken sandwich, the chicken was burnt and dry, the added bacon was even more burnt. The fries weren't cooked long enough and tasted more like potatoes than fries. However, there is a little local place within feet of this restaurant that had amazing food. Check out the Cruzian Bistro for amazing food and the people are beyond friendly. My son said literally the best meal he's ever had in his life and both people that we spoke to there were more than welcoming and we're truly with the island represents. I had just a small bite of his chicken, the small bit he would spare, and it was amazing. This is a place that you should visit. Brew STX is more of a tourist trap with the basic food you can get anywhere. We definitely will...
