Crispy's Donuts — Restaurant in Chula Vista

This is what happened to me last Thursday: I visited Crispy Donut Shop earlier today. I have to say, my experience was quite frustrating. I'd always had great donuts and customer service from the previous owner however, things took a turn when I visited today.

I placed my order for 2- dozen donuts when the new owner decided to skip over me to serve the man behind me. I was taken aback, especially when I asked why this happened and was told it was "the kind thing to do" because I was ordering more than the customer behind me. In addition, I waited for my turn behind two other customers.

Honestly, I found that reasoning baffling. Isn't living by the code "ladies first" the kind thing to do, or maybe that does not apply to people who look like me? I get that the shop might want to keep things moving, but it felt incredibly unfair and even rude. As a customer, I expected to be treated equally, regardless of how many donuts I wanted to buy.

I left without donuts as the owner screamed at me thanking me for my time as I walked out the door.

Maybe I'll give them another shot in the future, but for now, I can only give one star. Let's hope they can work on their...

HOLY MOLY! i just recently got into liking apple fritters and decided to try this place out. thus far i’ve had 5 different fritters throughout san diego (i’m here right now visiting my bf) and so far this one has been the best!

this fritter had an amazing amount of cinnamon, apples, and glaze. the crispy yet softness texture was perfect, the edges are definitely my favorite.

my bf got a chocolate glaze and it was pillowy soft and super good, (this is coming from someone who doesn’t like chocolate all that much.)

the lady who gave us the donuts threw in a couple of donut holes and those were amazing too. i cannot put enough emphasis on how fresh everything here was!

if i want an apple fritter from here on out i’m definitely coming here cause the times i’ve tried new places since this one have just left me thinking about this fritter. i hope when the time i get another fritter comes it was as good as the one i had this time, though i’m aware that things can change depending...

I was in the area and noticed this place had amazing reviews, so I had to stop by and I’m so glad I did. This is now my go to donut spot! Their authentic, made daily donuts are perfectly fluffy with that crisp, sweet glaze. Absolutely to die for.

The owner was incredibly welcoming. We experienced some of the best customer service today. Even my kids couldn’t stop talking about how nice he was and are already asking to come back.

This hidden gem, tucked next to Starbucks, is the perfect stop to pair with your morning coffee. Plus the parking lot is spacious, and easy to get in and out of. Highly recommend this place! If you're in the area, stop by and show your support! Authentic donut shops like this are rare, and I’d love for my kids to enjoy them the way I did growing up.
