They just opened at the begining of the month and already making a name for themselves! The first time my wife and I came in to Galu we had the Banana Almond Butter Toast, it comes with a toasted bread as the base and it has ricota, almond butter, granola and bananas! The flavors are so good and the portions were very good size. The second Item we had was the Mushroom toast, it blew ot mind! the minimushtooms and the whole ricota base on the Sourdough comes thru so good! This was a great expirience, the place is small and quiant, they have really good drinks, they prepare their own syrups, and their creations are unique delicious, The first drink I had was the Oaxmocha, reminded me a Chocolate Abuelita with real good coffee, my wife had the Lemon, mint tonic (it has espresso (2) shots) and it was a surprise the espersso gives it a great strong flavor you have to be prepared for the hit that the coffe gives to the drink. I personally enjoy a mint lemon drink. Now add the coffe and you'll add another level of flavor. The prices were good, the qualty of the food was gourmet food at a great price. The Owner is a Chef and knows what to do! Eventhough the place is small what comes out of that kitchen is AMAZING! I am already recommending it to all my friends and family! We all apprciate the businesses like this one. My wife and I came back again today Friday and tried the paistries. The paistries complement the coffee shop 100% We love it and we will come back again, and again. Custmer service is super! they do take a little time to give you your order yet is worth it. They have a little bit for the vegan, nut lover, coffe lover, desert lover, Croissants. For parking the best way is to park in the street or on a parking structure. There are not handicap parking around you will have to park in the structure by the bank. They have a little bit for everyone! They Chef is super cool and all an all a 5...
Read moreCafé Galū is a charming little spot with big flavor. The avocado toast was a standout — beautifully balanced and satisfying. The toasted bread with lox was also delicious, with fresh, clean flavors and great texture.
The Reuben sandwich, while tasty, leaned more California than classic. The meat was shaved perfectly thin, and the arugula added a nice peppery twist. That said, it felt like it was missing a bit of that traditional punch — perhaps the sauerkraut wasn’t quite sour enough, or the usual Russian dressing wasn’t prominent. Still, it was a well-executed and enjoyable twist on the classic.
The space itself is quite small and cozy, but it’s clearly a local favorite — there’s almost always a line forming, especially on weekends. Typically, just two people are working the front, but they handle the rush like pros and keep things moving smoothly, especially on the patio. Seating is limited to a few small, somewhat rickety wooden tables outside, but they do the job and offer a casual space to enjoy your meal.
Overall, Café Galū delivers a relaxed atmosphere, a thoughtful menu, and solid execution — definitely worth a visit if you’re...
Read moreI’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. There’s always people outside so I wanted to see the hype. I wasn’t disappointed!
I was between ordering the banana matcha and the strawberry. I went with the strawberry because looking at other people drinks, it seemed like the banana matcha didn’t have a lot of cream on top. Well, the Strawberry matcha was perfect for me. Not overly sweet, and I could actually taste the matcha and it wasn’t bitter, very smooth.
I also ordered the chilaquiles blancos and green goddess tuna sandwich to give a try, and food was delicious! Bonus points that on top of tasting good, presentation was lovely.
Staff was friendly and efficient also and I didn’t wait long for my order (Monday afternoon). Based on taste, quality, staff, presentation, it’s worth the price for me. I’d love to come back and try more. Support your local businesses on...
