What an awful experience that is still in play, with a Mothers Day surprise for my daughter-in-law. I preordered a cake for Mother’s Day via their online ordering system. I got a order confirmation, including my delivery day and time, and my credit card was promptly charged. Cake, card and party plate kit were to be delivered Friday by 6pm... nothing. I started trying to call a couple hours before they closed Friday and nobody ever picked up or it rang busy. So I emailed the to see what was going on. Started again today, Saturday to email and try calling, they now have a message stating they are not taking calls so I sent a couple more emails... nothing. The radio silence of this business is very telling of their management and operation. A simple”hey we are swamped and have your order and it will be delivered by Mother’s Day” would have gone a long way with a delivery that is two days late and counting. This evening, I had the embarrassing moment where I told my DIL that she would get nothing from us for Mother day thanks to this location of Nothing Bundt Cakes who would not even minimally communicate with me so I could arrange something else. I think the recent low reviews are very telling and I wish I would have checked in here prior to throwing down $60 for nothing.
*Update Monday AM 4 days later from delivery expectation. Never got any of what I ordered, never was able to get through to talk to anyone. Disputing credit card charge now...
Read moreI love Nothing Bundt Cake products, just not his location's service. I was rudely dismissed a few month back (pre-COVID). The door was open, I walked in and didn't notice they had just closed. The girl pointed to the sign and showed me out. I wasn't being difficult, I literally just walked in. Just say, "I'm sorry, we just closed". I get it. I went out of my way the next day and stopped by Mission Valley location to get what I needed. It’s closer to work, they are courteous and efficient, so it became my go-to location.
This Eastlake location is close to home, so I thought I'd try again. I ordered a two tower bundtlet, but was told they were out of the poinsettia flower that was on display. I asked if I could buy the display flower (there was two), and was told I couldn't because it was the display (of an item that's no longer available ). I got a blank stare, so decided to move on and said I'd skip the flower. After a 25 minute wait, I get two buntlets in a brown paper bag. I give up on this location. I typically place larger orders for work and wouldn't trust my order here until the associates can improve on service and communication. Maybe the Mission Valley location is available for...
Read moreI had the exact experience as another reviewer below. I ordered my Bundt cake 5 days before Mother’s Day, to be delivered on Mother’s Day. I was charged immediately. Cake was not delivered on the promised day/time. For NINE DAYS I was unable to get a hold of them by phone or email. I understand it’s an unusual time, but this was unacceptable. Why take more orders online than you know you can handle? And why not attempt to contact people promptly if you know you cannot follow through with delivery date?
They finally delivered today, 9 days after Mother’s Day, waived the $5 delivery fee, and issued a $15 credit... but come on. This could’ve been handled so much better even given the circumstances. Won’t use this location again. In contrast I ordered a separate Bundt cake from another San Diego location for Mother’s Day and the delivery was flawless so it’s just this location that can’t get...
