Pros: • Cleanliness • Attentive service • Selection of plates

Cons: • Unflavorful dishes • Over flavored dishes • Hovering owner/manager

I tried this place since it was recommended to me and was quite disappointed. I understand that this is a fusion restaurant, but the majority of the dishes left me dissatisfied. The chicken in a rice plate my brother ordered was actually the only thing that scored my pallet. The Nigiri of the unagi left me discontent. It is one of my favorites especially from Japan. Except this one was drenched in eel sauce and barely grilled. The ikura was another that was a let down. The so-called gyozas didn't even resemble it. It seemed more like a chinese-american fried wonton. The magic tofu was not one bit crunchy and was drenched in its own sauce that it fell apart. the sauce itself was not that good either. The ebi tempura was another let down with it being soggy than crispy which tastes like it was microwaved. The majority of the westernized sushi mainly had cream cheese and didn't really appeal to me. I tired the bunny roll and the ika dragon roll both were unsavory. The ika tasted like I was eating US macaroni salad and the bunny was terrible. The salmon and the tuna in the bunny was unflavorful yet with the sauces that were dribbled on made it taste awful. I did happen to notice the owner or manager hovering around every so often and made the atmosphere unwelcoming. Unfortunately, I would not be coming back here for...

My husband and I came here for the first time. We have never eaten at a Mexican inspired sushi before. I must say we were impressed with the rolls. I had the Bunny Roll which was so fresh. The ingredients were very fresh which was impressive.

I also ordered the Beef Ramen. I was impressed with the Presentation of the Ramen bowl and how the ingredients were placed; However, I was not impressed with the taste. The Ramen had no taste at all and was very bland. I was hoping for either a little bit more spice or more salt. The meat was cooked very well, however, it was also bland. This is the reason why I gave it minus one star.

For a drink, I Ordered the saki Rita. This is a very clean Tasting drink. The color and presentation of it was nice. I will also say that this drink was kind of bland. I didn’t taste saki in it at all. It had a tangy taste to it, which was great, and the salt rim was a nice blend, but this drink is easily forgettable, unfortunately for my taste.

Overall, the environment was very clean, calm, and almost made me forget I was in the middle of Chula Vista. Our waiter was very friendly and super accommodating. Regardless of My disappointment with the Ramen, he made my experience pleasant. I would definitely try this again so that I may try other rolls. I most likely won’t have the...

This is a lovely Mexican style sushi spot that just joined the scene here in Chula Vista. The miso was yummy and was a great starter for the meal, and they brought us water while we decided on our options. We decided to go for the Kani Crunch and Dragon Rolls as our main dishes and I loved the Kani Crunch the most out of both. It paired really well with the sauces it came with, and the crunch was delicious and reminiscent of Tijuana sushi styles. For drinks we opted for the agua fresca liter pitcher in flavor mango, and this was absolutely divine. It tasted like hand made mango juice and was the perfect amount of sweet with no pulp (cost 14$ tho🙁 but it was worth it). What made me love it tho was the amazing Japanese decor, and the beautiful woodwork and when I went to the bathroom, they even had a installed bidet. 10/10 the whole experience, and the service was amazing especially considering we showed up 45 mins before close. They also have free eel sauce, ponzu, siracha and soy sauce right at the table which again is so Tijuana - Mexico sushi coded and just reiterates how amazing this place it. Not many businesses can go from Mexico to the US, so it’s a DAYGOCERTIFED✅✅ for suree.

Sushiroll is a visually stunning restaurant that exudes warmth and a welcoming atmosphere. As soon as I entered, I was struck by its aesthetic charm and commitment to sustainable practices, especially their use of sustainable water. The service was top-notch; our server was not only polite but also incredibly kind, making the experience even more enjoyable. The food at Sushiroll is a delightful surprise, showcasing a unique blend of Japanese and Mexican flavors that creates a tantalizing fusion. Each dish was crafted with care, and the generous portion sizes left me feeling satisfied. The creative combination of flavors added an exciting twist to traditional sushi that I hadn’t experienced before. Overall, my visit to Sushiroll was a memorable one, and I can’t wait to return to explore more of their delicious offerings. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a fresh and innovative dining experience!
