I’ve been coming to Albano’s Pizzeria for years, back when Giovanni, the grandfather, ran the place, and it was a true gem. Unfortunately, the quality and integrity of this restaurant have declined significantly over time. I recently ordered an open-face Italian beef, dipped, with hot peppers on the side. The bill came out to $18 and some change. For that price, I expected the same hearty portion and quality I used to enjoy. Instead, they’ve drastically reduced the amount of meat, raised the price, and the quality of the beef is questionable at best. To top it off, they now have the nerve to charge a 4% fee for non-cash payments, hitting every customer with this extra charge. It’s ridiculous. This place no longer takes pride in its food or respects its customers and their hard-earned money. If you’re looking for great Italian beef and good service, spend your money elsewhere. Albano’s is no longer the place it once was.

I usually only come here for the Italian beefs, this is the 3rd beef I got from there where the meat is VERY thick & I have to over chew to consume. The beefs are normally shredded thinly and easy to swallow but lately the beef has been too thick. The hot pepper oil also isn’t the same, the hot pepper oil literally taste like straight oil. It doesn’t have the vinegary taste with a spice to it, it tastes like straight oil a spice. I love Albanos beefs literally my go to when I have a taste for an Italian beef. Also, if the beefs are going to be $20 at least make the beef fill the WHOLE pan not half. I’m not complaining about the price because it will definitely be worth it if the slightly changes I pointed out will change. I would hope this comment will change the texture of the beefs and make them thinly sliced & easy to consume & bring back their original hot pepper oil & size of the beefs.

It stopped in here this evening and ordered takeout garbage salad 🥗👎 definitely a slight mistake and a bummer that I don't want to even eat any of this ..... Staff is very friendly and helpful when answering questions and I was impressed that the woman behind the counter came outside just to let me know my order was ready already... I do feel that the amount I paid was not worth it seeing as there were several things in the salad that were clearly not fresh or maybe not in season... Whatever the case I still love this place because the first time I went I had their Pizza puff which was absolutely amazing and I will go back and hopefully have a better experience (probably only order the pizza puff and I will be well..

I’m glad to have an opportunity to share my experience in your store tonight. I just moved into the area and the first few times I’ve visit this restaurant, the young man at the cash register during the day has ALWAYS exuded elite customer service! For this I am grateful. In the last few weeks, I was able to meet the owner Kim who personally took my order and made my meal herself! Two chicken garbage salads with mushrooms and all requested ingredients, they were excellent! Tonight we called before we came and spoke to Theresa who seemed to not want to be at work this evening. We ordered two garbage salads and went through the trouble of confirming the ingredients that we wanted on the salad. Not only did Theresa hang up the phone in the middle of my asking a question about the menu, I arrived and picked up our salads that were made carelessly and skimpy, without mushrooms and other requested ingredients. I didn’t know this until I got home and realized that the salads were missing those things but had an abundance of soggy green peppers in it. It is with my whole heart that I believe customers should be able to see their food before it is bagged and stapled, especially if the call taker is not good at following instructions. While at pickup, I asked for extra mushrooms not even knowing that the original ones requested weren’t on the salad. And as always I am will to pay for anything I ask for. This seemed to be a problem, extra work for her and funny- not only was the staff short tempered with my simple questions tonight, my salad was made with excessive soggy green peppers, no mushrooms or tomatoes and light lettuce. I believe it is very important to care about your customers, show respect and appreciation for the people who spend money in your store and not hang up on them mid sentence for whatever your reasons may be. Hopefully this gets better. I could have ordered from...

I got a deep dish pizza for my guy and he talked me into eating a slice (I'm not a pizza lover). When I took a bite I crunched into glass. It cut the inside of my mouth. Called back and they acted like we were lying. They demanded pictures of glass be sent to her cellphone. Then said pictures were blurry. Then told me I can't prove the glass was in the pizza. She argued and did not even want to replace it. Told us to make sure we put pizza back in box and return it. Like we were trying to get a free pizza. When I called back to check on replacement pizza, she said I was harassing her and slowing her down from making pizza. When I told her she could be sued from me eating her glass filled pizza, she told me I was threatening her. So after waiting almost 2 hours for the glass filled pizza, then waited another two for new pizza which I didn't want anymore. Refused to refund money and didn't do any customer recovery at all. Yelled at me on the phone and said people are always trying to scam. On top of that she kept repeating there is no glass in the kitchen, only metal and plastic. Then she said there are only two guys that work in the kitchen, and they don't drink so there could not be any glass. I couldn't believe it. Like who really knows there workers that well? Do they live with you? And this was the owner. Gave the driver back the remaining pizza and showed him the glass. I cracked my tooth from biting into the thick glass that was in the pizza and no one apologized except the delivery driver. And that's all I really wanted - to be treated like a customer and not a scammer. Thank god, my kids who ate first, did not get any glass. At least I'm hoping they didn't. I'm scarred for life from pizza. I use to love Albanos, but now it is terrible. I wish I could give...

I order from here fairly frequently and always order the same thing. Pizza puff with Italian beef and giardinera. The puff is great and I drive 40-50 min round trip to get it. The last time I ordered, I cut open the Pizza puff when I got back home and saw that it was pepperoni and pineapple. Gross! I called to let them know they gave me the wrong food and the guy said I could bring it back if I want a new one. I explained I live downtown Chicago and already spent nearly an hour picking up the first one. He offered to give me a credit on my account so the next time I order I won't pay for it. I go in there today to pick up and the girl says there's no credit on my account. I explained to her the situation and she picks up a notebook and is able to see it, hand written, that THEY gave me the wrong Pizza puff. Then tells me they won't give me a credit because I never brought the wrong food back. What kind of customer service is this? Not only did they make the mistake of giving me the wrong food, but they even have it hand written that THEY made the mistake and still blame me for not receiving the credit since I wasn't able to drive a 45 min round trip to right their wrong! I am in customer service myself and it's sad to see a business willing to lose a regular customer over a $14 mistake THEY made. Especially when they are 100% aware they did it and even kept record of it! On top of it all, the girl was rude and already helping the next customer before I was done talking. Do...
