Slowfire hosted our Dominican University Borra College of Health Sciences Leadership 2024 Holiday Wheel Throwing Party on December 19th, 2024. Noelle, Steven, and Jeny guided us through the class and were so helpful and patient. It was fun and they were wonderful hosts! They even set up our tablecloth and sandwiches/beverages/and cookies we brought. We had aprons made by a friend of Noelle’s, Brieanne Maldonado, for gifts for each person that attended and they were just lovely. Everyone in our group loved this event and their time there! Several of us talked about going back for more classes and other classes as well. It is in a great location, nice shop, they offer fun and creative activities, and the people are so very nice. Thank you everyone at Slowfire for everything!!

My family loves Slowfire! The teachers are fabulous, they’re all artists who teach technique to students of all ages who want to go beyond basic arts and crafts classes. My adult ceramics class is the best part of my week. My son had his birthday party there a few weeks ago and it was great - super low key, small group, the kids made a cool clay project, and the face painting was super impressive! The price point is comparable to other high quality activities and the owner is committed to paying her employees a competitive wage. Great all around!

I’ve taken a few sessions of classes for wheel throwing at SLOWFIRE and I have been loving it. The classes are kept small so you get more individual attention and guidance and they help you through the process to make sure that not only are we learning techniques but everyone walks away with useful and cute pieces to take home.

My kids have taken art classes at Slowfire for years, and whenever I check in and ask what activities they want to do outside of school, Slowfire is always at the top of the list. One child focuses on the wheelthrowing classes, and I was so grateful to find a more engaging ceramics class for tweens. The class is taught by Alice, and my child always feels encouraged and is actively learning more skills to grow as an artist. My other child loved that Slowfire offered a fibers class for kids (hard to find!), and it gives a sampling of different fiber arts like friendship bracelets and needle felting. The teachers are amazingly patient, and the kids are so proud of the work they do at Slowfire. For me, the pricing is also super competitive from other local art classes, based on the quality of the teachers and the length of...

My 12-year-old daughter has a teen membership here, and we couldn’t be happier! The instructors are incredibly helpful and kind, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for young artists. They always have great music playing, which makes the space feel fun and relaxed.

Not only does my daughter love coming with her friend, but she’s also made new friends along the way. It’s been a fantastic creative outlet for her, and I love seeing her excitement after each session. As a parent, I really appreciate how responsive and professional the staff is—any time I have a question, they are quick to answer and always happy to help.

If you’re looking for a wonderful place to explore pottery, meet great people, and enjoy a fantastic atmosphere, this is it....
