This is one of my favorite parks in Oak Park. There is the incredibly dangerous sledding hill- I have watched so many children, including my own, barrel into others at the bottom of the hill- so stay close and keep your eye out for incoming sleds. We also participated every year with the annual pumpkin smashing contest ( probably not the actual name), but essentially you throw your pumpkin off the top of the hill, and everyone watches in amazement. It is very calming if you like to destroy things as much as I do. The field is a great place to fly a kite, or play kickball. We often played games of softball at the diamond, and there was always a crew of people working out.
