4th and Walnut restaurant & tavern — Restaurant in Cincinnati

Breakfast for an after wedding party. Now in all fairness there were around 20 people or so. Figured things would take time. Waitress' seemed to be overwhelmed. Orders were taken in a seemingly orderly fashion and that's where it fell apart. They would bring out a couple plates with no idea whose order it was. Just announced the dish and people would put their hand up. Food was coming out barely warm for most people. I waited an hour to get my food. Most were already done eating. Some waited longer than myself to get food. Luckily my food was warm and actually good for eggs over easy and hash browns. Amazingly enough, checks were individual although staff was told who was together. Wife and I put our checks together and left cash. 2 hours for breakfast. There is a really bad smell in the restaurant. I'm only sharing this because I would love for leadership to fix this. I've eaten here several times and stayed at the hotel many times more. Food is ok or above average. I don't mean to be unkind but it's too hard for me to share this with staff directly. The place smells like a dirty dishrag. Or like a place where they mop the floor with very old, dirty water. It is so pungent and unappetizing. I have to walk through there to use the bathroom and it is somewhat nauseating. I'm sure if you work there long enough you lose the ability to sense it, like people that have dogs. I will remove this post if...

My husband and I Had a really nice dinner here! The place has a great vibe. cozy but still feels a little upscale. The staff was super friendly and checked in often.

Food was delicious and nicely plated. You can tell they use fresh ingredients. I tried the braised short ribs and it was amazing. My husband tried the filet and he loved it. Prices were fair for the quality and service We'll come back to next time...
