Hilton Hotel - Cincinnati (Avoid at any cost!)
Title: Unacceptable Service, Safety Hazards/Fire Risk and Missing/moved Items from my room with the privacy sign on the door.
My recent stay at the Hilton in Cincinnati was a complete nightmare. From loud noises in the room to a malfunctioning stove that ran for hours overnight (potential fire hazard!), my experience was riddled with issues.
The room lacked safes, which was a significant concern as a corporate employee needing to secure my laptop. Despite reporting the stove malfunction, no action was taken. Even more concerning, my room key was deactivated without explanation, and hotel staff entered my room without consent, relocating my belongings to the lobby (with disregard for the "Privacy" sign) and offering no explanation or notification.
Due to hotel occupancy, I was left without accommodations for two nights. Retrieving my belongings was a further ordeal, with a delayed response, lack of clarity, and missing items. An overcharge of $23.68 to my account remains unresolved.
I attempted to address these issues through email, but received no response despite sending three emails (extremely unprofessional). This blatant disregard for my experience and the significant inconvenience caused is unacceptable. Specific Concerns:
Loud refrigerator noise and continuous running flush Malfunctioning electric stove running for six hours overnight (potential fire hazard) No safes in rooms Unaddressed concerns regarding stove malfunction Deactivation of room key without explanation Unexplained entry into room by hotel staff and relocation of belongings without consent or notification (Picture attached how my stuff was found in the lobby). Lack of accommodations for two nights Delayed response and lack of clarity or apology upon retrieval of belongings Missing items from belongings Overcharge of $23.68 to account Ignored emails
Overall:
I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Their disregard for guest safety, comfort, and concerns is appalling and...
Read moreWe had an early am appt in Cincinnati so we decided to come down the night before. The place was nice enough, but not what we expected for a normal Hilton. It started with the parking and I knew we'd be paying for parking since it's a dntn location, but surprised it was a detached parking garage. We had to leave the garage and go outside, but went the wrong direction and ended up with a long walk ahead of us, only to discover we could have gone the other direction and been much closer but there was no signage. Then we got to the front and there was not great signage. This woman heard us and said, "It's the one on the right. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor and check in." Huh? The 2nd fl??? Well, we did it, and there was a sign telling you to go to 2nd floor for check-in once you went through the door. Off the elevator there was a sign that said to go left for our appropriate hotel (this is apart of 2 adjoining hotels), but there was no one there. A maintenance guy heard us wondering where the check-in staff were and told us to go to the other side for the other hotel. I was confused since it was different, but went and there were 4 people there, and now the maintenance guy joined us. Why was no one at the other desk and they were all here?! They looked aggravated that we were imposing on them and asked if we used the app to check in; I said, 'no.' They said we could just use the app next time for easier check-in. It felt like they just didn't want to be bothered. Next we went to the room and it was nice and spacious, but a bit "worn;" the bedspreads had noticeable stains, a tear in a chair, and the cabinetry was older. The space is big and relaxing, but we had lots of little things that made it quite aggravating. We discovered we prefer a hotel with its own parking/direct access and friendly, welcoming staff. There was nothing wrong with it and the location to downtown Cincinnati was nice, but we opted for being out of town the next time we had...
Read moreThe good: Every staff person we met here was friendly and helpful and the location is excellent. This is why I am giving 2 stars. We thought the bed was very comfortable. The blackout curtains really worked and we didn’t hear outside noise which is uncommon for a city. The water pressure was amazing. The sofa bed was probably the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a Hilton with no crumbs or per fur. Breakfast was typical. Hot food was hot, but the staff did fall behind in replenishment both days we were there. The bad: The halls just feel dingy. Hall carpet is in bad shape and needs replaced or stretched. Rooms have wear and tear and could use an update (missing drawer fronts, ottoman cover breaking down, dirty walks, handle for cold water in bathroom sink spins all the way around). The shower was slippery, and my biggest pet peeve, hair from previous guests in the bathrooms. Housekeeping should take an extra minute to double check tub and corners where lack of cleanliness is obvious. The ugly: We always check for bed bugs. No bed bugs…but our first room we found dead carpet beetle larva in between the mattresses and box springs. Our second room on the same floor at the other end of the building had living carpet beetle larva crawling between the mattresses. We were finally moved 2 floors up and that bed was clean and no bugs. If it weren’t so late, I probably would have looked elsewhere for a place to stay after the 2nd room. My husband commented that he didn’t think the front desk seemed surprised about the issue. I didn’t pick up on that, but was just annoyed with the situation and thought he was hoping they had other rooms available. Finally, there is no self parking, only valet for $42 a night. If your there on the weekends, the garage right across the street from the hotel is $9 a day so valet costs are pretty outrageous...
