Came from the Children's Hospital to try some new BBQ having tried all of them in Northern KY and Lucius Q.

Overall, quite disappointed.

The front service was decent. A little awkward, asked what Turkey tips exactly were and the helpful explanation we were given was they were the tips of the turkey.

The Golden BBQ sauce is a home run. If you do try this place, get it. You just have to trust me.

Ordered a Large Brisket Dinner. This was supposed to come with a full box filled w/ the meat of your selection (see picture of black box), and 2 large sides. We chose Mac and Cheese/Cole Slaw.

When we try any new place we like to get the most we can within reason, so we also ordered a Regular Meat of the Turkey Tips and a side of Collared Greens.

The big problem:

Check your food. We were given a normal lunch portion, which is significantly less food. They have a disclaimer at the bottom of their receipts of their Return policy, as seen pictured. This made us uncomfortable because if there is a literal policy saying "check your food before you leave", that gives me zero confidence my food is going to be right and also makes me think that sometimes it might be intentional. If you have to put a return policy up front to check your food, versus just telling your cooks to just fill the order correctly, that screams fishy to me.

So instead of a very large dinner portion, of one of their more expensive meats, we got the small box for the price of a large dinner.

The food:

Brisket was decent. Wouldn't put it in the top 4 in the places we've tried. Small sample size, given we didn't get the large.

Turkey Tips - They were different, wouldn't say I'd order them again. Came with original BBQ sauce which we asked for that to be on the side. Ordered because they are known for them but wasn't anything to write home about.

Mac and Cheese - Better than the generic Mac many places service for kids that are obviously boxed, which isn't a high bar, but wouldn't be top 5 amongst places we've tried. My wife was not a fan of them, says bland and dry. "Noodles with cheese"

Cole Slaw - Interesting. Initial bite wasn't great but as you chew it gets better. I had towards the end bit into a celery seed which deterred me from really trying it again. My wife said had a bit of an unusual and different flavor.

Collard Greens - We ended up getting Green Beans instead of collard greens which we were disappointed with. The front service cashier absolutely did translate our order correctly to the back kitchen, so this was at no fault of the front worker.

Green Beans - Typical green beans, meat within it was stringy and dry.

Corn bread - Corn muffins really, but if you order corn bread and you eat this you will say to yourself, "Hey, it's cornbread". Tastes like corn bread. Home made corn bread with a little more love definitely tastes better, but you wouldn't be mad if you're in the mood for it.

Rolls - literal hamburger buns from the store.

We won't be returning just from the order issues and overall impression of the food.

If the owner is reading this - We really wanted to like this and give it a fair shot. It was late afternoon on December 30th and really slow overall, so maybe we came at a bad time/shift and love supporting local small businesses, but this is an honest to God review of our experience. FWIW my wife was extremely offput with the order and policy disclaimer and wanted to headline with wanting to give it 0 stars, I would have probably given...

I ordered catering for work from Alabama Que. I arrived a bit early since I was picking up near closing time. It’s quite popular and now I know why!

The owner met me with my order on a cart and brought it to my car (even though it was not super close). He told me a bit about his work work (fire/ ems- sorry I don’t remember exactly) which was cool because I am in healthcare.

Everything was very well packed. They double foiled everything which was so nice. The hot items were hot and the cold items were cold.

Everything was a hit and definitely made with LOVE. Here are the details

Turkey tips- these are bits of turkey tenderloin in a wonderful bbq sauce. They are tender with a bit of chew to them and delightfully smoky

Pulled pork- perfectly smoked, seasoned and sauces

Brisket- amazing. Ah-amazing melt in your mouth wave of flavor, so tender and perfectly smoked

Baked beans- more flavorful than any I have ever had. I’m not sure what spices they use but these are no ordinary baked beans- brown sugar? Cinnamon? Nutmeg? Clove? Such a great experience

Mac and cheese- copious cheese (mild), beautiful species of pepper, and perfectly cooked. Based on the stretch of the cheese only quality grated cheese is used for sure

Cornbread- moist with a great burst of sweet

Green beans- well seasoned and delicious

Potato salad- surprise star of the show- perfect with paprika on top

Coleslaw- well made and seasoned

Buns- they’re buns- complimented the others well

I’m leaving this review because of the horrible customer service I received today from the rude mean and nasty lady that was working the front counter. I had been there waiting for over 30 mins for an online order and I had to ask for someone from the kitchen in order to even receive the order. She just kept telling me “it’s not up yet you gotta wait” while I watched at least 3 people that came after me place their orders and received them before I did which is when I asked if she could send the owner/manager to check on it for me. She said he wasn’t there but a kind gentleman from the kitchen came out and handled it quickly. She then asked me to confirm the order which is when I told her that it’s missing a drink she repeated for me to confirm that I picked it up without the drink and I told her that I would once the order was complete she then made me continue to wait as she sat the food down walked back to the kitchen to have someone else do her job telling them that I WAS RUDE! I was NEVER rude with her I waited patiently. I saw they were busy so I even left and came back. So not only was she rude to me she lied on me and I don’t take too kind to that. I pick up orders from here all the time and I have never seen anyone in this establishment have such a nasty attitude.
