We were there for graduation and there were traffic issues due to the incident On Friday with a deputy being hit and killed We were stuck in traffic and saw a sign for valet on the back side of the hotel We entered .. as it appeared that is where valet was located There was no one there I entered the hotel and explained our situation .. I was reprimanded ( like a child )by the front desk and valet because valet is located in the front How would we know ? They said the sign should have been removed … not MY problem They were rude about holding our luggage so we could attempt to get to graduation on time The front desk clerk continued to reprimand other guests about getting the bell carts returned and literally followed them to the elevators to reiterate the urgency of getting the carts back in a timely manner He also was rude to a couple checking in with their dog … and let them know that they must be with the dog al all times because if they have complaints they cannot move then as the hotel was full This was not done in a customer service type of way .. it was a harsh warning .. to guests who had done nothing After graduation we discovered we had left something in our car .. we went to valet to retrieve and we told it would take too long and we should walk a couple of blocks ( in the rain ) to get it ourselves We did… upon getting there our car could not be located on any parking garage level ( we tried them all) They then discovered that they had never moved our car from the back of the building So we walked all the way back and retrieved our items While we were trying to get our items from the car an elderly woman approached valet and said she was in a lot of pain and needed her car to get to the emergency room The valet attendant told her if she needed to get there quickly she should go get the car herself in the parking garage as it would take too long for them to get it And off she went … unbelievable Someone should have helped her .. huge liability if something were to happen to her Furthermore when we tried to get our keys at check in .. I let them know I had already checked in on the app ( when we dropped our luggage this was confirmed ) We were rudely told we had not and our keys were given to us .. when I asked the room number .. he said it’s on the key Retrieving our luggage was painful as he acted like it was a problem that he shouldn’t have to deal with Your front desk is your face .. clearly this person was not equipped to handle this There was a young woman who helped store our luggage who was very nice and I wish I could remember Her name .. based on the others who represent you .. she deserves a raise We had breakfast the next morning it was good and the service was ok … I felt bad because it appeared they needed more staff Not a reflection on them .. but the management This hotel is nice and conveniently located But I would never...

I travel for work – so I spend 80%+ of my year staying in hotels for a week at a time. Hotel Celare takes the cake for the absolute best hotel stay I think I've ever had. The level of friendliness and customer service that literally every single person who works here had is similar to the way Disney World cast members treat the guests. I have never been treated so kindly, welcoming, friendly, inviting, etc. as I have at this hotel.
My first day, I had a question about the TV in my room and they sent up the hotel engineer within minutes, who was one of the kindest people I've ever met. He ended up having to leave and come back 3 times to help fix the very slight inconvenience of mine, and still had the kindest personality and demeanor. I wish I could remember every single person's name that I interacted with, but I have pretty bad memory with names. The people that I interacted the most with were Tiffany and another kind gentlemen at the front desk– who spoke to me every morning to wish me a good workout, to enjoy my breakfast, and to have a good day. I also frequently had Jodi as my waitress at the café, and she was equally just as kind and friendly as everyone else. Their kindness and friendliness really is the main reason I'm taking the time to leave this review, because I think the entire team here deserves to be called out for how wonderful they are.
The rooms were phenomenal. Sleeping in that bed was so comfortable that it made it difficult for me to get up in the morning to go to the equally great fitness center. The bathroom was great, the storage in my room was great, the design of the hotel/rooms is great– there was genuinely not a single complaint I had. Even the housekeeping service went the extra mile and would stage the room for me every day (organized my toiletries, if I left a jacket out they would fold it and leave it for me, etc.) which was completely unexpected, but definitely noticed and appreciated.
The café they had was to die for. It is so nice to not have had a go-to continental breakfast like most hotels, and to also have a plethora of healthy dining options.
Even the valet drivers were extremely friendly. I'm used to the drivers being very straightforward and transactional, but every morning and afternoon they struck up a friendly conversation while getting/retrieving my keys.
The location is great, super close to UC, and you can easily and effortlessly access anywhere else in Cincinnati you may need to go. Genuinely could not speak any higher of my experience here, and I hope that any time I travel back to Cincinnati I get to stay here again. I will be dreaming of this hotel and recommending it to everyone else on my team for their...
Read moreI recently planned and hosted a networking event at Hotel Celare and cannot speak more highly of my experience! As a Wedding and Event Planner it's imperative to find venues that not only have practical options for spacing, but also have a team of people who communicate well. Tracy was our main point of contact as we planned this event, and she was incredible to work with! She was always quick to respond, knowledgeable of the hotel's space/catering offerings, and happy to help. The hotel speaks for itself in its incredible design and functionality! The vibrancy of the space created the perfect environment to keep attendee energy high. We utilized four of the hotel's spaces: The Vick, Iris Café, the Onyx Ballroom, and the patio space off of the main lobby. All of these spots were incredibly clean, functional, and versatile for added design.
Not only was the hotel's space incredibly valuable to our event, but the catering was top notch! The food was delicious and all dietary restrictions were catered to with the utmost care. The hotel's bar team came up with creative cocktails and mocktails to fit the vibe of our event, and the hotel's in-house pastry chef made some AMAZING desserts. He even created chocolate bars branded to our organization (photos below).
The staff was also wonderful, as they were eager to help and served with smiles on their faces. Our team was so grateful to have them to work with!
At the end of the event, our attendees were able to tour the hotel and check out their guest rooms. These rooms were beautiful, clean, and very clearly thought through. Our guest speakers stayed at the hotel and had a fantastic experience!
Overall, our experience was nothing short of wonderful in hosting out event with Hotel Celare! Their whole team went above and beyond to make our event successful. Thank...
