13 health violations!!!! Warning!

Worst bar experience of my life , but made for an interesting story to later tell friends. Regarding the health violations, if you check out Yelp it list them all right there.

I came in before a UC game to meet some friends and dealt with a male, bald bartender. Reading through some reviews and even very old ones, I am not alone in my experience here and not alone with this bartender I had a bad experience with. I heard he always is a bit cheeky and sarcastic, but never have I been treated so bad. I saw a tab from the customer before me with a $0 tip on their receipt, that should have been my first warning sign. Even my friend was saying his customer service made her feel uncomfortable and we wanted to quickly finish our drinks and leave. He was in an OSU jersey that day and they just lost to Michigan, so maybe that was it?

It wasn't crowded when we got there and not even a full bar, typically in that situation you don't have to flag the bartender down. But he barely acknowledged me until I did so. When we were ordering our drinks my friend was saying she wanted a specific flavor high noon and he said they did not have that, although we were looking at it with our very own eyes. Then when I tried to order a Corona Light he said they don't have that and if I want to order a beer I either want the "pounds" or not. Just wild!! It doesn't end there though. I tried to order 5 shots of white tea and that is definitely not what I got. It straight up smelled like straight tequila, which white tea is vodka, and didn't look like white tea at all. When I asked him about it (which I was afraid to) he made some snide comment and took one of the shots. On top of that I had ordered 5 and he gave me 3...

Just a very confusing customer service experience and would never go back. I'm not sure the point of acting that way or treating customer in such a way when all we truly had done is come in and say down and spoke amongst each other and wanted to have a couple of drinks before heading into the bar.

If you're looking to go to a bar before the game, go to Martino's. That is where we went after and I have been to before. This was my first and last time ever going to Dive Bar. I was anxious for my bill because I was unsure of what he was going to charge me. When I got it it was only $10 so I left a $2 tip (which I really considered not even doing) and called it a day. This place was so clean, classy & beautiful inside & out, the front & back patio & deck are breath taking. Drinks were good but huge chubby bartender had an attitude as soon as we walked in the door, we were judged unfairly, like he didn't like us bc we were disturbing him & his star trek fan club. As he was entertaining them right in front of us & the other 2 customers that braved listening to his stories. Oh also we were with 2 men of color, whom both are very successful beer critics for a local popular elite magazine. So that sucked! But it all turned around as a young cook came out back to ask for a light during his break whom is also a man of color, made the rest of our visit fun and positive. Went there last night and will never go back. We ended up there at like midnight, none of us were intoxicated, one of us had just gotten off work or we wouldnt have been out that late. The bartender took my ID, proceeded to bend it back and forth at least 15 times and the lamination cracked so she peeled part of it off and refused to serve me because it was now damaged. I've been in the industry for 5 years and I'm aware of the lawsuits that can occur against a bartender/establishment but there's a proper way to check an ID that don't cause damage. It seems other reviewers have had issues with them being unable to accept valid IDs. If it's that big of an issue get an ID scanner. Besides the fact that the staff is incompetant, the bar was overall fairly dingy, they didn't even have draft beer.
