This place was fun when it was a bar you could walk in to from the comic shop. Then it was a bar that was fun that was separate from the comic shop. Now it is a bar with a loose theme that has nothing to do with overpriced drinks.
I'm all for overpriced drinks at a bar with fun thing to do. They took out any fun things to do in this tiny space (board games/video games) and tacked on a theme and called it a day. If you want to have some drinks and a good time just go to Rhinegeist or Pins or literally anywhere else.
If you want to sit at one of about five tables while a dubstep remix of the Mandalorian theme plays as you finish a lackluster themed drink.... Come...
Read moreI have been trying to visit Pennifold's since they opened. I usually head to Cincy to pick up my son from the University of Cincinnati and arrive early in the morning. I do head to Cosmic Gorilla to get comic books but never seem to catch Pennifold's when it is open.
One day I happened to be in town during the late afternoon and BOOM! It was open. I was elated.
It was well worth the wait. The staff is super friendly and the drinks are great. I plan on attending a Monday trivia night as soon as I can.
The atmosphere is family friendly. I was there with my partner and middle son. They also had a good time.

She made a rude comment to my friend, who tried to order a drink at 10:45, saying “I can’t just keep making drinks for people, I want to get home to my kid.” I sympathize, but it’s Saturday night and most bars are open until 2am, so you close pretty early anyway!
