Updated Review
I decided to give Activate Oakley another try after a rough first visit, and I’m really glad I did. The experience this time was night and day! The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive from the moment we walked in—checking if we needed help or a walkthrough. They even comped our visit because of the previous injury, which I really appreciated.
There were way more staff present, actively monitoring the space and popping into game area to check on things. It felt so much more organized and safe. Huge shoutout to the team for making noticeable improvements—it really shows they care about the experience and took feedback seriously.
Initially had a nice time at Activate - the concept is awesome, and the games are fun. Unfortunately, there were a few serious issues. The play area was chaotic, with kids running everywhere and no staff monitoring the space. The rooms were also poorly lit, leading to collisions.
I ended up snapping my ankle during one game and the way it was handled was disappointing. Staff were slow to respond, didn’t check on me, or offer help beyond an ice pack. My friends had to carry me to the lobby, and we felt dismissed when we asked about the incident.
Better lighting, crowd control, and staff training in first aid and incident response would really improve...

From here you go back to the game room. There is a hallway with 12 or so different rooms off of it. Each room houses a one of a few different game formats. Within each room/game format there are a few different games you can play.
Scan your wristband at one of the doors to get in line to be the next to play that game. When the screen reads “Go” you enter the room and the game begins! Expect to spend a few minutes for each game. If there are others waiting outside your room to play next, you will be able to play one to two levels before be prompted to leave the room. If no one is waiting outside, then you can continue to play and level up until someone is.
It was pretty busy tonight and my wife and I played at least 30 games over the course of our hour and fifteen minute reservation.
A little noisy and hard to here prompts while in the game rooms but overall a great time.
Free lockers in the lobby for personal items.

Read moreMy family of 5 had an absolute blast at Activate Games! All of the games combined physical activity with technology and we had to work together to advance levels. One really neat aspect of the rooms is that each one has different challenges that can be chosen and you can adjust the difficulty which was perfect for us being that our ages range from 6 up to 46. Please note that most, if not all, rooms have a max of 5 players. If you are a larger family or part of a bigger group, you will need to divide up. They have free lockers to use in the lobby so you don’t need to keep track of your wallet, keys, etc. If you have 75 minutes, your time won’t be...
