Prior to being gifted with a Cheddar's gift card last summer I knew nothing of the food, their specialty, or general history of delight among the local epicurean warrior. Brief montage of the logo scrabbled in with light speed commercials featuring the familiar delight at Denny's with a wildly foreign name. I swore the place was into fondue or some wild amalgamation 'veganestâ dishes for Navy Seals. I was wrong on all accounts. It's basically all the favorites of Americana served up hot and fresh. The food actually tastes alive like eating it gives your body nutrients! The items on the menu don't just have enough raw elements and nutrients from the soil to call it food. I've tasted fruit and vegetables lately that have no taste; and meat with indicators that the meat glue gun was used on that suspicious looking ribeye. Cheddar's rolls should be on the desert menu. Me and my food buster friend were so impressed that the waitress (who was also amazing!) said, âwe must've been deprived judging by the way we complimented everything.âYes, we were totally overly appreciative and couldn't believe the prices were affordable as well. So, surprisingly great experience all around was the experience. The second tour was much later and we bought along a first timer who was absolutely glowing over the food. One small smudge which I was totally all for ignoring was that I assumed the complimentary glazed croissants were free, so I ordered just one round with a refill on my coke. Food came out but no refill and no complimentary manna. (Sad face) I didn't say a word as I am patient. Watched her serve sets of tables but again patient if the rolls didn't come I was fine but I did need another drink. I hated having to ask, I really did. I'm easy going as a matter of fact I am the most empathetic person when it comes to being served. I leave tips on occasion that eclipse the bill for great service or because I can see a rough day all over their face. So when my request for a refill and the kindest inquiry about the other was returned with thinly veiled eye daggers. I almost ducked and cancelled everything. She complied disappearing behind an employee only area. I swore in my peripheral she walked into 3 areas at once. Naah, I fanned away at the absurdity with muted replies to random comments. She, the waitress, popped up behind me. Introducing my general area of seating with a soda refill and the movement of a white plate. Once stayed I smiled at the sweetly soaked bakery goods. She asked if I was happy now... The answer was yes. She later returned with Togo boxes and said she'd collect the cash for the bill in a few minutes. We were ready. 15 minutes passed and even the flashing light on the info cube was not enough to recall any to pay. So we got up with a $20 tip and money for the bill to look for our server who was absent.... We asked like 2 people to locate her and they said just leave it on the table. We did reluctantly. That was the first time I almost walked out without paying it seemed like a lot of cash to leave for someone,...

Read moreI went with my wife and the 2 kids a 5 year old and 11 year old. We had to wait 30 minutes to get seated which was expected. While waiting I took and menu and made sure we knew what we wanted before we were seated. When we seated we put the orders in right away. 2 kids meals with a couple of sides, blacken Salmon and a rib and steak combo. We waited and waited and the waitress was helping other tables but seem to ignore us. I saw electric games on tables to keep kids occupied but we were never offered any. A hour past by and waitress still ignored us. Groups that cake in after us got there meals and then I stopped the waitress and she immediately started babbling about how the kitchen cooked the wrong meals first and ours are on a priority list. I was very upset and was about to walk out but my said what will we do for dinner we have been here going on 2 hours now. 5 to 10 minutes layer the kids meals were brought out and the waitress stated at least I got the kids meals and your rib combo is causing the delay. 2 minutes later another person came out with the rib combo and the Salmon. The Salmon was not Blackened and my wife looked for the waitress that did not come back to table. I assume she did not want to deal with us. A dew minutes later someone else came to the table to ask if everything was OK. I said no but she was a young girl probably another server. She asked if we wanted a free dessert and we said no it is to late for the kids to eat a dessert. Then she said she would speak to a manager. We never saw a manager, I did not see any adults working everyone looked like young kids. Then the waitress returned and said they are discounting the bill. When we got the bill it stated we got an employee discount.
The kids liked their food and my wife said even though the Salmon wasn't Blackened it tasted good. That is why I gave 2 stars. My ribs were terrible and the steak cold.
I don't like giving bad reviews but this was a very disappointing experience for the...
