Melao Gastro Bar — Restaurant in Citrus Park

I was here for Mother’s Day and I’m just writing my review now because of how upset I was. We arrived around 8:30PM. I was surprised it wasn’t packed for being Mother’s Day. The atmosphere and music was great. We had to wait to get seated about 5 min. Waitress came over, asked us what we wanted to drink. We were still deciding, she left and said she would come back. Another waitress came and got us our drinks. Our original waitress came and took our orders. We waited about 30 min. At first we were okay with this, just listening to the music and talking. Another 20 min go by and our waitress seen we didn’t have our food. She said let me check in the kitchen. She came back out and said it was all almost finished, great. Another 20 min go by and no food. My boyfriend got up because aside from this our waitress was no where to be found. He goes up to the bar, tells them we need refills on the drinks, and asked for the food it’s been at this point over an hour. They call our waitress, she goes back into the kitchen to check on the food. Went missing for maybe 15 min. The food finally starts to come out. Well we had no silverware. Another 15 min for anyone to come to us and give us silverware because they had given it to a table next to us that ALSO did not have silverware. All the while our waitress is telling another waitress to get us things instead of our waitress stop what she’s doing to bring us everything. Once we finally get silverware, my families dinner was all out. I was still waiting on mine which was Mofongo with camarones al ajillo. The waitress comes and sees I don’t have my food, she starts apologizing and says I’m going to check what’s going on. Another 15 min in the kitchen. All the while I’m waiting, my family has eaten their food, and 2 other waiters come with OTHER food that’s not what I asked for and I tell them, that’s not mine! We are also still waiting on the refills. After 15 more minutes or so my food finally comes out…. Guess what? It was a mofongo with shrimp and some type of Alfredo sauce, not al ajillo. At this point I was starving and just ate the food. The waitress didn’t show up again until about 20 more min to give us the check. We look at the check, NO deduction for the terrible experience we had. So we still paid, about $103.00 no tip. I still don’t understand all of the mixup. The waitress should have stopped telling other ppl to get things for us and done this herself, that’s the SERVICE you provide. It was very disorganized just from watching all the waitresses work. There was even a large party in front of us that came after us and I hope they had better service because ours was 100% unacceptable. I would never go back here again or recommend this to anyone. What a way to spend...

My daughter picked this place for our Birthday dinner, made reservations for 7:30pm and was told if she was there 15 min late the reservation will be cancel, well we were there at 7:25pm we let them know we were there, at 7:40 they told us to give them 5 min and we said no problem, well we seated at almost 9pm and the we didn’t start eating till almost 10:35 or so, the only person there coming to see if we need it anything or if everything was ok was Vianel and I hope I’m writing her name correct because she was the only good thing there, when we asked for the cake because some of the people that went to be with us were getting ready to leave was an issue, they took forever then when another lady came to our table she said that we have to wait because the other table was there first, I looked at the other table and they were having fun and dancing the opposite to us because they kept us waiting so long we were ready to get the heck out of there, the lady got mad and when they brought the cake they didn’t even pretend to sing to us and it was so awkward, they totally ruined our birthday mood and we are not coming back for nothing, worst experience of our lives when it should have been different 0/10 do not recommend, it’s good if you want to hear music and drink beer but the wait is long as heck we’ll atlease for us it was.

You apologize, but the apology doesn’t mean anything to me because it doesn’t erase the sadness that was on my daughters face that day, so keep you’re apology and make sure it doesn’t happened to anyone else because it’s mess up to be treated like crap and paying the amount we paid which to be honest for two people almost 100 it’s crazy in this place but...

The new ownership and new kitchen staff are lost they need to get their orders on point very unprofessional went there last night with my wife & kids and my brother and his family we had the worst time ever we order all at the same time 2 different bills my brothers family got their food first well half of their food they forgot their side dishes never came out, my kids got their food but like 20 min after my brother food came out and I had to cancel my wife and my food after been there for 1 1/2 hrs and no food for my wife and I really the worst service I have experienced in my life we got a few drinks at first they was good never out of the hole 1 1/2 hr the waitress came around and ask if we needed and other drink or anything I ask for water with my first drink never got it neither or a second drink and I told the new owner's that It was better managed by the previous owner than by them way better treatment by Odalis and her staff and family... The new owner's are more worried about the whole club approach the Hukaa lounge than the hole restaurant aspect and the family ways that it used to be if it was a zero stars that would be what I would have given them By the way the prices are ridiculous I got charged $90.00 and never got a dinner plate or my wife wow lo peor de lo peor not even a I'm so sorry or nothing from the owners the owners excuse we are busy which they was not would never but never go back or recomend this place in the future the worst of the worst by the way you need to download the menu and if you have android wont work hahahaha what a messed up...
