This review is in direct response to Julia Jenkins one star review. First I have an issue with people purposely trying to hurt a small local business when they have visited only once. I have been going to Loch and Quay since the week it opened and the ONE time I received an order not to my liking, I let the staff know and was compâd. Did Ms. Jenkins let the staff know? Or did she bring her order home and let the cheese set??? I have ordered the pretzels multiple times and it never looks like that. To those people wanting TRUE reviews of establishments please research those reviewers and how many times they actually ate at the establishment. Btw Ms Jenkins, next time you receive pretzels that are too saltyâdo what I doâtake your pointer finger and flick the salt off. Chef Bev is the best Loch has had and the food is great. One of my favs is the patty melt. I also LOVE the reuben, best in the area. She also creates great soups for both vegans and non vegans. Thx Loch this review is long overdue, the entire staff are friendly...
Read moreAt my wife's suggestion we visited Loch & Quay (pronounced Lock & Key) on Fri 4/04/2025. This pub is on Broadway in downtown Albany. We went at 5:30pm because usually this area is busy. But to our surprise we found a free (no feeding the meters after 5pm) on street parking right in front - Nice! Found seats at the bar, about 10 people there. Bartender Nicole G got us our Happy Hour drinks, Pinot Grigio ($5) & Kilkenny draft ($6) and we had 2nds with our dinners. Wife had the Mediterranean lemon chicken chickpea salad - fresh & large ($18). I had the battered cod sandwich w/slaw & mac salad side ($16). Both were very good, just the right dinner we were after. Got kinda quiet after 6pm. A table of three were also there. Very nice experience. I would think that as the weather improves more people will enjoy their outdoor area. Good first impression. Chock full of Albany nostalgia. Thank you to Nicole & staff. It was a nice visit and we will go back. Nick &...

She gave options on IPAâs. The food was delivered quick. To my surprise, the burger was flat, a bit on the dryer side with 0 condiments. Was bun, bacon, cheese and a pickle spear. Fries were not available so a bag of voodoo chips were in place. $15 for a high school cafeteria burger with no fries is a big much. No lettuce, onions or tomatoes to justify the price either. Place itself and Sarahâs service was good; but the quality of the food could use a revisit to get value back. Iâm in Albany often for business. I will return just...
