Super disappointing experience on Sunday July 29th around 1130a. Walked in to around 8 people waiting on line - and took about 15 minutes for us to get helped.
After waiting the main cashier immediately told us all food was going to take “a really really long time” “like 20+ minutes.” Whether we wanted a toasted bagel or a full breakfast sandwich, she assured us the wait would be the same.
Needless to say we skipped on that - and got a ham & cheese croissant instead, which just needed to be warmed up. Unfortunately, after waiting an additional 10+ minutes for my drink, I had to go back to the counter and ask for my food - which the cashier told me she “totally forgot about.” It had been sitting in the oven literally the entire time and came out completely black - I’m surprised it didn’t start a fire. She tossed it directly in the mixed garbage can (another major fire hazard) - and told me I would HAVE to wait for another,
We’re already 25+ minutes into are experience at this point, and clearly cannot wait another 10+ minutes for an average-looking croissant. I just asked to take it cold (which it certainly was) - so we could get out of there ASAP. We were incredibly frustrated, but just wanted to get on with our day. I took the food without saying anything - and the cashier loudly shouts “THANK YOU” for everyone else on line to here.
Sorry, I’m an incredibly polite and well-mannered person - but don’t see any point in thanking someone who doesn’t value my time or experiences. No point to gratify poor service, bad in-store logistics, long wait times, and...
Read moreThey don’t like friendly out of towners. I said hello when ordering, received no response back. Ordered 2 hot lattes, he asked again hot or cold.I stated hot. Ordered 2 sandwiches. I received 2 cold lattes, I actually got a sorry. 1 of our sandwiches were wrong. We spent $75.00, I offered to take the wrong sandwich considering . No response but they yelled to the employees in the back and offered them the BLT. I received my correct sandwich and suggested a free coffee would be nice considering everything that was made for us was wrong. No response again. Receipt states, Jared. Despite our unpleasant experience, a few days later the CEO of stacks reached out to us and went above and beyond to accommodate us and make things right in a professional manner. I would definitely give it a second chance again. Susan is awesome and cares a lot about her business and customers !...
Read moreAnother coffee house taken over by people running up students loans, clinging to laptops as if they were life rings and deferring gratification. Hopefully, we'll push grad school into the high school years so we'll have street life during the daylight hours weekends. It's been like this for two decades, laptops and coffee cups and headphones while the overhead music plays, cool music but headphone music enhances focus. At least grad students in painting and sculpture move in energetic ways in studio. So grateful that a circle of friends are making idle chit chat about hoppy beers and paleo diets. Location near the park and the river makes this a great rest stop for a...
