My name is Jake Shirley. I am a 16 year old high school student at El Camino Real Charter High School in Woodland Hills, California, which is a tiny suburban area outside of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley. I have never visited New York at all, let alone this restaurant. The reason I am writing this is because for some reason my AP US History teacher (shoutout Mr. Solarez) was doing a little research on the sandwich shops in the quaint little area of Newburgh, New York. We stumbled upon this place and after viewing the pictures available we decided to check out a couple of reviews. Mr. Solarez began with stating that "A student last year told [him] to check the worst reviews first", and that we did. The ensuing replies from the owner of the restaurant were nothing short of the funniest thing I have ever read. A simple "HA!" on a one star review wasn't the only gem. Others included the casual "Maybe try like... McDonald's?" and my personal favorite, "Bwahahaha...do you know how much avocados cost? They're like a bazillion dollars". Needless to say, the entire class was left in an uproar after hearing these witty, dry, and cutting remarks. This owner leaves no promises when regarding a reply to criticism, but I am here to promise something. If I ever visit the great state of New York, or anywhere in the New England area, for that matter, I will not do a single activity or see a single sight until I have received a meal from this fine establishment, clearly run by the best type of people on this planet: those who don't take criticism well....
Read moreI had a great experience at The Beacon Daily! From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making my visit truly special.
My friends and I tried a variety of different menu items and they were all out of this world! The creativity and attention to detail that went into crafting each sandwich were evident in every bite. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and the combinations were nothing short of genius.
Not only were the sandwiches a delight, but the presentation was also top-notch. It's clear that the team at The Beacon Daily takes immense pride in their culinary creations. Whether you're a meat lover or prefer vegetarian options, there's something for everyone on the menu.
I also want to commend the establishment for maintaining a clean and comfortable dining environment. It's evident that they prioritize the overall dining experience, which sets them apart from the rest.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Beacon Daily to anyone. Truly one of the hidden gems of the...
Read moreBefore posting this review I read through a good handful of the other reviews. It does seem we just had an unlucky experience. But still had a very negative experience. People can have off days and the day we went the food tasted like it was freezer burnt. We saw the chef taking food out of plastic wrappers and they charged us $50 for two meals and 2 drinks. Firstly if your going to charge that price, actually make tye food don't heat it up. But as I said it seems based on the other reviews this place is usually on top of their stuff. We asked for a refund because the food was genuinely not edible. The chicken was rubbery and the eggs were burnt to high hell. When we asked for a refund which we only did because of the price, the staff and owner was patronizing and rude as hell. Seems like they don't take criticism well. Looking at the reviews we would've absolutely given this overpriced breakfast place another try but after that interaction with zero accountability, we will never go back.
Edit: The response kinda...
