Laura's BBQ Waterfront Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in City of Glen Cove

We literally had just docked our boat at the marina, we forgot our code to the restroom as we are new to the marina and this was first time we ever tried to use it. A young woman pointed us to the restaurant and my daughter proceeded to quickly change for dinner. When we came out we basically got bombarded and talked down too by two employees of this restaurant. They were both rude and condescending. I think they thought we we were customers of the kayak rental shop?? Either way their rudeness was eye opening. I mean seriously, we were planning on having g dinner , my husband was actually looking at the menu. But after being spoken to in that manner we will take our business elsewhere. You should be nicer to people. We are literally going to be there every weekend. It might have been nice to try a new restaurant. We had dinner inside, it was a “busy night” for them. However the food came out lightly warm to almost cold. We had the beef brisket and pulled pork, the owner brought out the food a second time and it was slightly warmer than the first time but never hot. The food visibly looked great but after tasting it, it was flavorless. We added salt to it to compensate but the fact that it wasn’t hot made it difficult to eat. We ended up not eating our plates. The owner didn’t charge us for one plate (beef brisket), the waitress wasn’t attentive and we had to wait longer than expected just to have the food heated. I have lived in Glen Cover for a little over a year. Being from the south and with ties to Texas, BBQ has always been a huge part of our culinary pallet. After hearing great things about Laura’s I was finally able to try it today…and I cannot stress how amazing the ribs were here at Laura’s. The collard greens were also divine. The guy bartending today (Sunday May 18th) on the patio bar was superb. So personable and made the wonderful rib recommendation. The only improvement point that I see was the baked beans. The flavor was oh so a scrumptious, but the bean itself was a bit “crunchy” as if there were a tad undercooked. Albeit, this is an easy mishap with even the best chefs!!
