Padrona — Restaurant in City of Hudson

I had an excellent experience at Padrona. First of all, and perhaps most important for a cocktail place, the drinks were as interesting as they were good. In addition, the nibbles -- it's really more nibbles than full-blown meals -- were really tasty. I had the pickled vegetables and the marinated sardines, and it made for a fine light bite. What really distinguishes the places, though, is the atmosphere. Yeah, yeah. Atmosphere. I get it. But the setting, with its midcentury furniture, is fun, and I had a great conversation with the owner and local bar celeb, Kat Dunn. Not bad for a late drink-and-nosh after getting off the train...

Went there last Saturday. Loved it, great vibe, drinks, service, music. Best locals bar in town. Go early, gets busy, great outdoors set up. Cool owner! Will be back next time we’re in Hudson. Must add that this place fully deserves 5 stars. I also have a business that has worked hard for its 5 stars, but occasionally you get a bummer, usually for something out of your control. Read a lot of reviews of this place in Hudson and we were desperate for ice cream. This looked like ice cream nirvana. We walked there, as the Google site said it was open but guess what? Closed. If you are going to use Google to attract business have the courtesy to say you are closed when you are closed. I'll never go back. Side note: If you are looking for a business to open look no further than opening an ice cream shop in the summer on the main drag: there isn't even one there.
