I met Sergio in Austin about 10 years ago. He's got an aesthetic for all body types, and he's designed for, and outfitted, both my mom and I. Even though we have very different body types, he was great outfitting us both, and altering the clothing to our unique shapes.
When I first met Sergio, I had recently had 2 kids, and was in dire need of an adult makeover. I had worn Bebe, True Religion, and James Perse clothing a lot of my 20s and early 30s and had no idea what to wear in my 30s-40s. Sergio not only made me over, he completely revamped my closet. He did so by knowing the ins and outs of the fashion market, the cool second hand designer shops, and the digs on everything fashion. I now have a full designer wardrobe that ranges from casual and hip sweats to couture gowns.
It wasn't until after using Sergio as a consultant that I realized he had his own brand. This was a whole new world. I have a number of Celestino Couture pieces, and they are beautiful! I have T-shirts, skirts, a bear fur shawl, cocktail dresses, etc. My favorite piece of all is this ultra special couture gown. I LOVE that he upcycles his materials--it makes every piece that much more unique and one of a kind (not to mention GREEN). I've worn that gown to 2 galas (yes, it's so special I wore it twice!). I got complimented by just about everyone at both galas. My favorite comment of the night was when a young woman asked me where I got my dress, and I said "It's couture." She said, "of course it is!" I only wish Sergio was still in Austin. I am planning to make a trip to NY in the near future to visit him and hopefully put together another gown. His gown-work is pretty special. Sergio works really hard to make special pieces with upcycled material (guiltless and good for the environment). He's also since been featured on Project Runway, so that's a testament to his skill. I love Sergio. I've seen him grow and love that he's finally finding the lime-light he so well deserves! (PS: and I LOVE Kade and their cat, Mumzy, too....the whole bunch of them are...

While the handiwork speaks for itself, what really propels Celestino forward in the couture world is the ethical work that they dedicate and hold themselves and...
