Ling Ling — Restaurant in City of Ithaca

I just had the worst experience at Ling Ling w/ a man named, 'David.' I think he said that he is the owner. David charged my Visa card for $21.01 over the phone, and then refused to give my son his food when he went in to get it, in spite of the fact, after many phone calls, that the bank printed out a statement showing that Ling Ling had removed the money from my account, and my son showed it to them! And,in spite of the fact that IPD even came to try to straighten it out.and saw the documentation! So, now, my bank (Citizen's) is advising me to start fraud procedures! ...And, still no food for my son! I have been a customer there for more than 20 years, and have recommended Ling Ling to other people! IPD recommended that we take our business elsewhere, and I certainly will! Eating out should be convenient and pleasurable, not a HUGE hassle, where customers end up getting ripped off and treated poorly! I made numerous phone calls, back and forth...this is NOT how I had planned to spend my evening. If you buy food here, do not trust them w/ your credit card information! Essentially, they stole...

Today I witnessed two workers from Ling Ling Restaurant, on Elmira Rd in Ithaca, walk into the ReUse in the next lot from them and literally DUMP 3 full boxes of tomatoes (probably over 30 pounds) from the FREE FOOD table into a ReUse shopping cart without a care in the world that those food donations are for everyone to share.

The old man then rolled the shopping cart out of the thrift store and took all of those tomatoes to the Ling Ling restaurant that he and his family owns.

Yes, he was aware of what he was doing, taking food donations from the people who would have loved a free tomato or two. Instead, he hurried away, to his restaurant, obviously to PROFIT from the generousity of the people who donated and who transported all of that food.

I will never give that restaurant another dollar of my money after witnessing their selfishness, greed, and disrespect shown to everyone today. Their food was ordinary anyway, but over priced. Ironic, considering they source at least some of their ingredients from sub-par, bruised and fast approaching spoilage.

I feel like alot of these bad reviews are people that mistake this ling lings and the other one. For one you can see them cook the food as the kitchen is in full open view behind the counter. Ive never seen anyone other than the same 3 people working there with a female always behind the counter so im not sure who this david another person refers too.. and seeing as they literally only take your order at the counter and then make your food I find it hard to believe anyone has a bad experience with that.

Anyway the food has always been fantastic in my opinion being far better than youll ever find at some cheap buffet. Ive never once got sick from there and have ordered atleast 20+ times over the last few years.
