Wow! I have to say I'm shocked. I do love their gluten free chicken and their soups, but I had a horrible experience today. The sweet potatoes I ordered for my daughter were EXTREMELY hot with red pepper flakes. My potato leek soup was delicious, and the GF fried chicken was on point. However, the sesame kale salad tasted very old and soggy. I understand rubbed kale and love marinated kale salads like from Stone Soup and Mother Earth, however this was inedible today. If itnwas just one thing I would not have called, but thought I would ask for a replacement with something we can eat because we are still hungry. Cheryl came to the phone and i shard that that these two items are inedible and Cheryl replied that it was a personal preference and nothing is wrong with her food and refused to switch for something we could eat. I thought this place was a great addition to Kingston, and I was a regular for the GF chicken, however I won't be back. What Cheryl didn't know is that I critique restaurants and am in the field. I can not support a business with no customer service. I am shocked, and sad, that they would lose a customer over a mistake with over-spiced sweet potatoes and a very soggy salad. Being in the sustainbility, restaurant, and customer service field, this is very surprising that Cheryl would lose customers with something easily fixable like this. She should have said is, "I'm sorry you, please chose something else, and I am hopeful you will be back or even since we are mainly take out let me refund your card or add a credit for next time you come in.

I was driving home after a long day and happened to see a sign serving burrata with pesto ( my absolute fav). I was welcomed immediately upon walking in and given a menu. Everything was beyond my expectations. The burrata melted instantly in my mouth with the perfect amount of seasoning. I also ordered the cod cakes and have never tasted anything like it. They had the perfect balance of spicy and lemon flavors. I finally found my go to spot for the area.

I ordered catering from Black Eyed Suzie’s and could not have been more pleased from beginning ‘til end. Cheryl was consistently responsive to my many inquiries providing helpful answers along the way. I ordered catering for a group of 13- the food was well packaged with clear reheating instructions, all at an affordable price point. Oh, and the food was delicious!!! Highly recommend.

Delicious food, nice place to visit, but TERRIBLE customer service. We eat there frequently and love the food, but there have been multiple instances where we were shocked with how bad the service was. One time that sticks out is when we got the kale salad (like we usually do) and it tasted very off. We called back and just wanted to let them know, didn't even ask for a refund. We were transfered to the owner, Sheryl, who was extremely rude and kept saying it's "personal preference" when the kale salad that we frequently get was inconsumable. We didn't even ask for compensation, this was right off the bat. We were just trying to let them know to check it, but were treated unkindly with disrespect. When we asked who we were speaking with, she rudely huffed that she'd already said it (she never did). A real shame since the food is so good. Also a little expensive, but I think the food is worth it if you know what you're...

We walked in today for the first time on a chilly rainy day. It was a nicely presented and styled european style high-end deli with table displays & shelves of specialist chocolates, pickles, boxed cookies and specialist gift items. The selection of pre-made foods were displayed in a refridgerated glass display cabinet and a small blackboard listed a few drink options & specials. We were surprised & disappointed that they do not have the option to heat up the deli food options to allow us to eat on-site. However, they do offer hot soup (when we visited, the vegetarian option had sold out). We opted to eat cake for lunch with medicre hot chocolate, which was nothing special, despite the tasted marshmellow, but did satiated our appetite. It seems a lost opportunity as the weather turns chilly to not offer the option to heat up the pre-prepared foods to support customers who would like to eat on-site and stay out...
