First time here. Called almost 45 minutes before hand to place a small order of a toasted croissant with light butter I mentioned to the women on the phone that I was gonna be there in like 20 minutes because Iām just stopping in with an Uber. When I finally arrived I wasnāt even acknowledged by the cashier who had just one person ahead of me. I watched her continue to make small talk with both of the men in line with me. She then turned around and started making coffee. She finally got to the next person she was talking to behind me this gentleman placed his order. She grabbed a bag and put his cake and placing his bacon egg and cheese order to the lady in the back making sandwiches I then said hi, I am the girl who called for a toasted croissant and she began to ask me Did I want the butter that comes on the croissant or did I want it cut in half with light buttered at that point i was confused because what does she mean? I simply ask her on the phone for a croissant that was lightly buttered we all know croissantās are made of butter so that threw me off I immediately said at that point can I have the croissant in a bag. She turned around and started making two coffees and wiping down the counter , as if I didnāt just nicely ask her if I can get my croissant in a bag because I had an Uber outside waiting almost now 7/8 minutes and still no croissant in a bag. I walked out this was one of the most blatant scenes of disrespect Iāve ever experienced in my life as a customer. Was she being naughty or was she being racist? I wouldnāt go there ever again because everybody that looked like her was being served and acknowledged. I will never give any money to a business that doesnāt want me in their establishment . Go there at your own risk Iāve...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI started off hearing about this place from a housemate of mine who heard it was relatively new and made wonderful donuts, made to order, right in house. Without trying them first, I recommended them to a coworker of mine. She tried them, was thrilled, and said I needed to check this place out.
A few days later, I went with her and another coworker to try them out for myself. That was this past Tuesday, and Iāve gone back two additional times this week since then.
Let me begin with each time Iāve gone in, I have been greeted with welcoming, kindness, and generosity, without knowing me prior. I was just their guest and they took care of me. Just like going to a restaurant, the food could be a 3/5 and this would still be a 5 star review. Thankfully, this is not the case. Itās a 5 star experience all around.
Everything at Half Moon is freshly made, extremely affordable, and tastes delicious. You can tell they care about what they create and how people feel about it. They all seem excited to share with others and receive feedback.
I am pretty sure this is the first review I have ever left for a place, at least the first time in years. I am excited for this business to thrive and continue to grow and develop while maintaining their integrity during this wild, difficult time of COVID.
Anyone looking for a warm smile, a warm donut, and the feeling that this will be one of many visits, take a quick stop by Half Moon CafĆ©. Itās a nice, quick stop to start your day off right. You can tell they appreciate your business and time. Thanks for being strong and pulling through...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNOT GOOD! I went here today for breakfast with my son. The menu showed 1/2 dozen donuts for $12. So we ordered this. I asked my son, āwhereās all the donuts? ā They only had a dozen or so on the counter. So we ordered 1/2 dozen donuts, the server asks which ones we wanted. Only 2 frosted donuts to choose from, Chocolate or Vanilla. My son picks 6 donuts and they ring me up for $20. I asked about the menu stating the price was $12. The server informed me that THOSE donuts were in the back and were the āmade fresh to orderā ones for that price. The ones on the counter were $20. I told her this is very misleading! She goes off on a long tangent of a big case of ādonuts from the backā vs ādonuts in the front.ā Long story short, total SCAM. I told her that. The donuts were nasty. They were very heavy. Way too much frosting. Tasted like a bag of sugar. Very messy as they got all over my hands. Most of the sprinkles and icing from the $20 donuts fell apart all over the ground. Then I got racist vibes afterwards and felt like the general consensus was that this place was ānot for me.ā Or I donāt fit the role to eat breakfast here. Highly do NOT recommend !!...
