As my family of four entered the establishment we were excited as it was our first time experience at Columbia House. The vibe seemed nice, music playing , dim lighting , the waiter very nice , he places 4 napkins with serving utensils wrapped into the napkin with two sauces in plastic containers.
My favorite food is Spanish , Latin cuisine . I ordered the basic, Cuban sandwich because I figured if the sandwich is good everything will be good because I had every intention of coming back. My two older children ages 19 and 20 ordered the steak churasco one with shrimp in garlic and the other just steak. My husband ordered the chicken pechuga ,,, well let’s start there. I have been to numerous Latin establishments and this was the worse by far. The chicken tasted like a raw piece of cold, dry, old, and tasteless with a can of chicken mushroom soup poured on top.
I have nothing good to say about this dish, except he hadn’t gotten sick yet and I hope he doesn’t get sick tonight. The two steaks were tasteless and ordered because they wanted to play it safe. They were dry with no seasonings and the blandest steak they both ever consumed. We got charged for the rice and beans that absolutely tasted like cardboard. My question to the chef , how can you mess up beans.. the easiest thing to make, a Columbion staple. Just SMH
Ok so let’s get to my Reuben sandwich I should’ve known bc In the menu it says ham and cheese That’s when I should’ve left and should’ve known it was going to be all down hill. It was a piece of spam with unmelted cheese on the stalest piece of bread you have ever seen!
Price of 4 meals 150$ not too expensive. I’m writing this because I actually want this place to make it, being I have a vested interest in my community but they have to make serious changes. Oh and they serve drinks with no ice. Go buy an ice...
Read more(This post isn’t even about the gift card) DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT CARDs from here. IT is CRIMINAL what they are doing. However be warned, they will call the POLICE on YOU if you ask questions!!! They will take the money and NOT honor it. You will lose your money. We had a $100 gift card. They checked their system, found record of it and told us it was expired and said it needed to be used within 6 months of the purchase. We were prepared to dine and pay without the gift card but inquired more since there was NO expiration date on signed gift card nor on the printed receipt of the $100 charge. The manager could not speak English and spoke through one of the wait staff. She could not provide a rational answer and finally gestured her hands to shoo us away and instructed the staff to not talk with us. Since we were prepared to eat there anyways, we waited to be seated. To our horror, we realized she had told the staff to NOT seat us when others behind us were being seated. We tried to ask who the manager was since at this point we couldn’t believe someone like her could possibly be the manager. It was too late. I could tell the wait staff felt bad for us but the marching orders were given. We were flabbergasted and could not believe what was unfolding. She humiliated our entire family (my kids 12 and 9 year olds were there) in front of the PACKED restaurant. We didn’t know what was going on until we figured out that she had called the POLICE ON OUR FAMILY. We have never been treated this way at a restaurant since we are not a confrontational family. Please do not go to this restaurant and support a business that places a person of this character as the manager. The rest of the staff are very warm and accommodating. I felt bad for them that they have to take instruction from this...
Read moreMy second visit at this location. Love celebrating local businesses wherever and whenever I can.
The staff is professional and the ambiance is fun.
No reservation so there is a wait time, no more than 30 min the first time I visited, the second time I was seated right away with my guests.
The atmosphere is laid back, the music is live performance and the big screen television is always showcasing sports. It's a good way to past the time in between appetizers and conversation. Both visits the hostess and the wait staff were friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu.
The floor manager is very professional when answering questions about the drinks, he suggested the best pitchers to do and what would be better tasting. This was in between his supervising the floor, answering calls and sanitizing menus. Very talented 👏
The food is always a very handsome portion with no hesitation on taste and presentation.
The flow of the restaurant is very organized for dinner service, and the tables are always full. With a lot going on around you, there is still a sense of calm and tranquility with the front and back of house.
The entertainer is always singing live and or encouraging participants in karaoke 🎤. She often makes a visit to each table, interacting directly with the patrons..This makes the night past by quickly and adds a sense of acknowledgment and thank you nods to the guests.
The drinks are very strong.
I would recommend a visit here is you are in the...
