This is a very unassuming little restaurant. We happened upon it when looking for a something my husband's mother would appreciate. They have a very intimate dining area but have utilized the space to accommodate quite a few tables. They also offer outdoor seating. The menu consists of both Mexican and Peruvian cuisine and my family and I were pleasantly surprised with both options.
Personally, I love the simplicity of the Peruvian pollo a la brasa, basically a rotisserie style chicken. The meat falls off the one and it's very flavorful. I usually order the 1/4 chicken (dark), and it comes with two side. I always get the fried rice and maduros. Hubby loves their churrasco with the tallerines verdes (pesto linguine). You really can't go wrong. The alitas de pollo (fried wings) from the Mexican portion of the me I are amazing! I like to order them dry because they are perfect as is.
The prices are reasonable and the staff is always very nice and accommodating. They have cute drinks and you can order the margs to go. They're extravagant in how the prep and serve the. I wish they were a little stronger but they definitely do the trick. Always ask for extra...
Read moreMy husband saw this place on Facebook and judging from the pictures he thought this place would be a great spot for us to try. We drove from Parkchester to try this place. The restaurant is beautiful so that was a plus The only downfall was there were a lot of flies. We did the lunch special. My husband had a drink The bulldog the Corona was half full The food had no flavor. Everything tasted like it came from a can especially the mashed up beans. I wanted soup and they didn't have any more soup that comes with the lunch special so we had to go with the salad. The salad that they gave was soggy it tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for days. The food was horrible I highly doubt the person cooking in that kitchen is a cook or a chef. Everything tasted like it was a microwave dinner so our experience here wasn't great at all. One of the waitresses was nice. The one with the blonde hair acted like she was frustrated. No customers should have to hear a waitress, huffing and puffing usually we take pictures of our food but the presentation of that plate wasn't...
Read moreBe careful! LOOK AT YOUR BILL CAREFULLY!! They pre-ADD TIP ON THE BILL!!
The restaurant was recommended few years ago by our neighbors so we decided to try it out - we really want to see good options in New Rochelle. The servers were nice and courteous. Food was unfortunately disappointing- we tried the Peruvian menu and was not appetizing at all. At the end when paying the bill - we were bit tired so didn’t realize that the bill ALREADY HAD 18% gratuity added to the total. Yet it still had a line to adda tip and final total like normal credit card restaurant bill. Dinner for two of us was around $42 and the gratuity added was over $8. Then we stupidly wrote/added ANOTHER $8.50- essentially paying over 36% on tip for such mediocre food! So afterwards we realized we ended up paying about $68-$69 for a $42 meal!!! We’d never seen restaurants in town that adds tip/gratuity on the bill. (Some places have that for large parties but we were just 2 ppl!) we felt taken advantage of and will...
