Gran Rodeo Bar and Grill — Restaurant in City of New Rochelle

Please listen to the bad reviews under this restaurant...they are spot on! This experience was one of the worst I had in this area. The waitress pretended not to speak English well (which is fine if she didn’t) and got my order wrong and then later when I complained she was able to speak English fluently. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and a chicken quesadilla. The margarita was a large drink, mostly juice, when I asked for an additional shot or the drink to be remade, they spoke in Spanish to each other and then told me that it was probably watered down due to the ice melting. Eventually the waitress “remixed” the drink and added an extra shot...though the drink still was not good. When I went to pay, one waitress gave me the bill and it stated $17, $4 for the mini chicken quesadilla and $12 for the margarita. I gave her my card, then another woman stopped her and they spoke in Spanish again, and then my bill changed to $27, $9 was added for a mini shot of Jose quervo for the already bad drink. When I complained about the up charge amount and how they didn’t inform me it would be that much, I was shushed by the waitress and she then spoke in Spanish to her colleague again. And they said sorry that’s what it is. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I did not feel welcomed (many stares when I entered), and I was not treated as if they would like my business again. I was there on 5/1/21, for dinner with my grandson. I traveled a bit of a distance, because I use restaurant.com and was supposed to have a discount, that was not honored because the manager said “ They did not participate with it”, so was not able to redeem it. I had already ordered, a “Mexican steak, with peppers and rice and beans. It was hard to find the steak on the plate, i had plenty of peppers though! The steak was sooo hard, I had to chew and chew for a long time! and the rice and beans was like a child’s portion. My grandson ordered a burrito, and it was ok.. he liked it. I ordered a Corona beer, $7! The server asked if we wanted chips and salsa while we waited? Uh .. ok? I thought that was standard.. 🤷🏻‍♀️Anyway.. here comes the bill.. $ 45 and change.. I give them my credit card.. not going through.. I give them bank card .. nope.. “not working” they said I would have to use their ATM and pay cash. So I did., But I will never return there, don’t waste your money there.. the least they could have done was give me at least a small discount for my troubles! ( maybe all that happened was not intentionally done.. except the extremely small portions for the price of $14.95 per plate! You have to try and keep customers, do they will return and tell everyone how accommodating you were! This is one that won’t be...

There prices online are different and not updated. I ordered an enchilada for $13 and the lady over the phone confirmed the price and when I went to go pick it up she said it was $28. That’s a big jump when I showed her the price they said this was from the previous employee. I don’t see how that was my fault and they should have went with the price they said told me over the phone.

They gave me an excuse, oh that’s the lunch special but no where on the menu online does it say that and then they said no sorry it’s because you orders chicken and it’s doesn’t come with that but on the menu it say with any meat. They should have honored the price that was online and that they confirmed.
