Before you make a reservation please of course call and ask if there’s enough space for the amount of people you will be bringing in, (this is for people that would bring 60 people in) I believe that there is enough space because we have done it before but things change you know? So please double check with the owner!

(This place is REAL Mexican food so get your taste buds prepared because this about to be good!)

I made a review of this restaurant a few years ago but I’m going to make a new one because why not? I’m the daughter of who owns this place and first of all, we apologize if you don’t like the service, or how long it takes to wait for the food… If you don’t know when making certain foods it takes a while especially when it’s busy and you have to make multiple huge plates for 10 people. By the way, my dad tried his best to be welcoming and make you feel at home.

The place is small, yes… but that’s what makes it cozy! I believe the prices are fair enough for what you’re getting depending on if it’s a gigantic plate and your getting 20 lava cakes and chips on the side, you are free to tell your opinion and it’s okay… just don’t be so harsh if you find this Mexican restaurant bad.

This restaurant was first build and opened 17 years ago. (yes we’ve had it for 17 years… crazy right?) The name is based off a city in the Mexican state of Jalisco!

I’ve tried almost every dish in this restaurant and let me say… IT’S AAAAAAAMMMMAAAZZZZINGGG!!! I love it so much and if you’re looking for somewhere to feel nice and comfy and have some good sweet and warm food sometime, I highly recommend this place.

We would appreciate you guys to visit and give it a try, and just as the Aztecs said… (This is just a joke but it’s true) Tlaquepaque means, “The best of everything.”

……………

“The place where you chill...

If you’re searching for authentic Mexican cuisine served with genuine warmth, look no further than Tlaquepaque in New Rochelle, NY. This family owned restaurant has been my family’s best-kept secret for years, and after our latest visit, I’m convinced it deserves a spotlight!

From the moment you walk in,victor the kind-hearted owner, makes you feel like family. When my uncle returned after two years away, Victor greeted him by name a testament to the personal care that makes this place so special. His warmth is matched only by the incredible food crafted by his wife, the culinary mastermind behind the scenes. Her homestyle cooking offering flavors that stand out from typical Latin fare. the food I had a veggie burrito bursting with fresh, vibrant ingredients, while my husband raved about the tender, perfectly seasoned carnitas. Every bite was a celebration of authentic, homemade taste. And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, Victor surprised me with a dessert, genius creation: horchata ice cream float!! It was the creamy, cinnamon-kissed treat I didn’t know I needed! pure magic in a glass.

Tlaquepaque isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience. Whether it’s Victor’s heartfelt hospitality, the kitchen’s soulful dishes, or creative twists like that unforgettable float, this spot leaves you craving more. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and GO! We’ll certainly be back soon, and I’m already dreaming of my next meal there.

Save room for dessert (or don’t—Victor’s happy to...

Revisit 6 months later/July 2023- Was super excited to be in the area again and stop here for a quick dinner. I ordered exactly as I did last visit because I was blown away by the taste last time. This time, it was good, not great. The steak was alittle dry, but still tastythe cerviche was not as good as last time. The only issue we had was we were surprised how much our bill was for not ordering alot. The next day we realized the owner added a 20% gratuity to the bull amd then we added another 20%. ..I wish he would've pointed that out to us .

Cannot say enough good things about this find for amazing Mexican food!! Had a job in the area for 2 weeks and made sure we went 2 times at least. The cerviche was excellent. I ordered steak tacos with cilantro and light on the onions. OMG..melt in your mouth, fresh tasting and absolutely fabulous. I believe it was better than anything I had while in Mexico and Southern California. We also ordered fajitas on 1 visit and a steak burrito on a return visit. Huge burrito! The owner,Victor, is an excellent host and chats awhile and service is very efficient. A birthday was being celebrated on one of our visits and he played Birthday music and brought them dessert with candles! Makes you feel welcomed for sure. Posting pictures of the amazing meals we had. Will definitely make the trip back down and you should try this gem of a...

Food and service was great the only downside we had was our receipt was scribbles for a group of 9. The food we couldn’t get enough of, everything was so so so so delicious and flavorful! Everything he wrote down wasn’t clear at all and drinks weren’t noted when we asked for receipt it was just his notepad. And his machine stopped working for about 30 min for credit card. No biggie. Maybe next time we can bring cash. For new Rochelle there needs to be a better more readable receipt especially for big parties The owner or manager his service was definitely amazing! he came with round of shots on the house and then tried to come again but we didn’t ask for any shots… just be careful other than that we had a great time! My moms birthday was another one for the books.

I hardly ever right reviews on places but my partner and I had dinner here this evening and WOW it was absolutely incredible. The ambiance was great and Victor took such great care of us as we dined in. We ordered the adobada and chorizo nachos as an appetizer, and for our entree we had the grandma and grandpa specials. This food did not disappoint!! Every bite was delicious and cooked excellently. We’re originally from San Diego, and it has been so so long since we’ve had Mexican food of this caliber. We are so happy to have found this restaurant and can’t wait to come back again!
