Tex's Chicken & Burgers — Restaurant in City of New Rochelle

I told the cashier I wanted a Hell Burger combo and 15 fiery wings with mashed potatoes as the sides for the wings. I got home and see I got a Spicy Chicken sandwich Hell style and the wings. WTH...? No wonder I had to pay more. From now onwards, I am checking the receipt thoroughly and checking my food before they even pack it. I tried called the restaurant not once but three times and no one picks up the phone. Instead they just hang up. This is not the first time my food has gotten messed up. Previously they charged me for a combo meal and never gave me the fries. When I told them about it, all I got was a smirk from three different people. The employees do not even know how to use the app. So forget about getting points. The food is good but this was irresponsible. They always have people coming inside asking to buy them food. Completely disappointed. Now I am just going to be coming here very rarely even if I do decide to come back at all. I guess Burger King would be a better eventhough a little...

I heard Texas Chicken at this location was bad, but I tried it anyway for break at work. Upon entry, the upkeep at the counter and soda fountain needed improvement. Covers were on the floor, soda that had been spilled left a sticky residue around the fountain, and various trash from previous diners on the floor. It wasn't "God awful", but noticeable. The food was warm, just made. Ordered chicken tender meal, regular. When I got back to work, discovered the tenders were bland and slightly greasy. One of them was slightly undercooked. It seemed the batter had no flavor added (salt or pepper). I tasted the oil it was fried in, it didn't taste like old oil though. The fries were okay, not soggy, not crispy, not salty. I don't like salty fries, but I know I'm not the average frie consumer. The biscuit was partly soft, but the outer part was slightly hard, dryish. Patrons managed their own social distancing.

Over the years this establishment has had a few highs and lows. The quality of food and care has varied depending on the staff. There were two women working there that had this place reaching new heights and since they've been gone it's returned back to ruins. Everything except the fries is disgusting. From old oil to dry bread and weirdly seasoned chicken. I don't know what were the owners thinking but I tell you this.. You'll be losing some of your regulars with this change. At this rate we'll surely see a new sign above the establishment. Hopefully a redemption is involved soon enough for your sakes. Personally I may be looking forward to something new in replacement.
