So my partner and I both were hungry and it was pretty late and saw online that Mahoney’s was still serving food. Instead of assuming, that the kitchen was open (sometimes online times are wrong) we called ahead first and they assured us yes they were still serving for another two hours. When we arrived we saw some people eating, others at the bar and noticed that it didn’t look like their was anyone to seat us, so we took menus from the bar and headed to a table. After about 20 minutes we noticed one worker approaching each table, either taking orders, giving people their checks etc. When he reached our table he seemed very annoyed and quickly took our drink orders. My partner ordered a whiskey and I ordered just a soda since I was driving. About 15 minutes later her returned to the table with water for me and the completely wrong drink for my partner. He then tried to move quickly away without taking our orders in which my partner then stopped him and informed him that our drinks were wrong and that we were ready to order. He seemed extremely annoyed by this and rushed us through taking our orders constantly talking over us, half listening to what we even were saying. He then went to fix the drinks upon which he returned, slammed them down in front of us and walked away without even saying a word. When the food arrived my steak which was supposed to be medium rare, was cooked more then even a typical “well done” steak and my partners boneless wings were chewy as if they had been sitting under a heater all day. He returned a few minutes later to the table, normally at this point the waiter or waitress asks how the food is, instead he almost interrogated us on what was wrong and why we weren’t eating the food. At that point we had had it and asked for the check, paid and left. Honestly, I understand some people have bad days, and sometimes the food could be off, but from the very beginning he made us feel like our very presence was a nuisance to him, like we had showed up at the last second and ordered a 10 course meal, to the point where he couldn’t even bother to remember a soda vs a water. The food in my opinion is forgivable, things happen, but to be treated so poorly by a waiter, when it’s to the point I’m trying to forcibly eat something I am not enjoying, just to avoid confrontation, is completely inexcusable and is why we will never...

I visit Mahoney’s twice a week, always enjoying a Guinness and my favorite dish, the pan-seared salmon. However, today’s experience was extremely frustrating. After waiting 43 minutes for my food, I checked with the bartender, only to find out that while the staff had placed my order, the chefs never received it because they weren’t checking if the printer was working.
I appreciate the effort the staff put in to manage the situation, but this kind of miscommunication is unacceptable. Management should ensure that both staff and chefs are on the same page, and that equipment like printers is regularly checked to avoid such issues. Supervisors should be more hands-on, checking in with both customers and the team to ensure everything is running smoothly.

Read moreWe had Ahmed as our server and were very disappointed with his knowledge and response to our question of what is in the Irish beef stew. Ahmed responded with "It's self explanatory" then when I told him what does that mean in knowing what is in the Irish beef stew. I had to ask "besides the meat what vegetables are in the stew" all I got in response was peas, and carrots. I then asked again is their potatoes in the stew? Then that was it he didn't know anything else. When the food did arrive my stew was filled with some much celery, red peppers, and onions 3 things that I won't eat and also there wasn't any peas like he said so I had to change meals with my husband. He was suppose to have a Jack Daniel panini but came out as a toasted melt. I was able to pick out the onions and eat half of the melt. I would have sent my stew back and asked for the fish and chips but we all fear what happens after food is sent back no matter who's fault the mistake is, but we were very limited on time. We also ordered the corn beef egg rolls which were good but definitely needed to make sure the oil was padded dry with a paper towel so the rolls weren't dripping with the oil and when you took a bite it didn't run all down your chin and hand. Our drinks were also poorly attended to were my husband's cup was empty half of the lunch. Ahmed only had 2 tables out of the 4 that was filled at the restaurant. Also Ahmed was overly concerned watching the World Cup as we were trying to get his attention to order our food. This waiter needs to be retrained in customer service and restaurant etiquette. We did let him know we were disappointed and that he needed to know the menu and not ever to respond with "It's self explanatory" to...
