Hattie's Cocktails — Restaurant in City of Rochester

Let me preface by saying I never leave reviews.Don’t go unless you intend to be tricked into spending more money. My wife and I were staying at this hotel and went up to get a drink on the last night of the trip. We were greeted icily by Mary J (the bartender) who proceeded to try to upsell and not listen to a word we said. My wife ordered a well dry martini with a lemon twist and was served with olives that thankfully the bartender remade. But, when asking for the low end price point whiskeys the bartender offered the upper end price point which thankfully I realized before ordering. Finally when we closed the tab (only one drink after this experience) it reflected Beefeater instead of Seagram’s which I asked about but was told that is because there is no Seagrams in the system and all their lower shelf gins are the same price. If you have ever bought gin or any liquor you know this is not how this works. We cordially left and tipped nevertheless, but I feel the experience meds to be relayed as this is clearly a combination of bad service and attempts to charge inebriated customers more without their knowledge. I've been to Hatties a million times and would normally recommend but after my last visit I will not return! The server over charged my credit card. When I called to speak to a manager to get refunded I was given the run around and no one ever called me back. I finally got a hold of the hotels accountant and then a mgr from the restaurant called me. I explained how they over charged me and she told me that if they refund me the server won't get a tip! Extremely rude to say to a patron who you overcharged! When I wanted to speak to the GM about the poor and rude service I was told he's out walking. My friends and I came here for drinks on 6/8/18. I always had heard good things of this rooftop bar so I wanted to try it out. The views of Rochester from the outside patio are phenomenal. Yes the drinks are expensive, about 2 dollars more per mixed drink than at other places but I think it's worth the price to sit or stand outside. The only problem is the bartenders are in a sunken area which really isn't appropriate with what some bartenders wear. The bartender also ignored me for 3 other grouos of people but also served my 3 friends so that was outrageous. However the view and the strength if the drink more than made up for the two cons...
