I'm still trying to figure out how this place has such high reviews. I came in and it was crowded but me and my son got stool seats pretty much when we walked in which was great for us as we didn't want to wait too long (i gave an extra star for that). I ordered a Fritatta that had NO FLAVOR. Putting salt, pepper and hot sauce on it didn't even make it better. I asked for the Mickey Mouse kids breakfast for my son that is supposed to come with a piece of bacon or sausage and I asked for a side of egg. He got the pancake and a side of egg. I asked about the bacon and she made a mistake and said she would bring it. Waitress brought out a full side of bacon (which I had to pay for). I left the full plate of fritatta there and waitress didn't ask any questions. I place my card to pay and that's when I find out it's cash only. I basically ended up paying 5 extra dollars for crappy food (ATM/Bank fee's). It was crownded when I came in and is probably why I didn't see the cash only sign. The waitress asked if I was sure I didn't want to take my fritatta and I said no I didn't like it and she just says ok and throws it out. I'll never come to this establishment again. My son was even talking about how his food...

I used to like going to Jim's on Main but, lately their food quality has plummeted. I ordered 3 Kobe Wham slams, one of them had an order of home fries, also I ordered a full stack buttermilk pancakes and full stack french toast. First off my home fries was supposed to have onions in it and it didn't and not only that the potatoes was not cooked evenly some were still partially raw while others were burnt. The breakfast sandwiches had the fattest steak that they were very chewy and we couldn't even finish them. And, lastly the pancakes were over saturated with butter and was just too unappealing. I had basically threw out over $40 worth the food because it was so bad. I reported this to the restaurant and the only thing the owner offered was to give me a credit for 1 breakfast sandwich. Honestly I am a okay on their food after that experience I just don't want another disappointment. So, with that said I am not ordering here again even if I have been a loyal customer for a while because, why am I spending that much money on food and it's not even...

So I've gone here twice because my roommate loves it, but I'm just not impressed. My first visit I was in the mood for biscuits and gravy. They didn't have it on the menu so I went with my fallback plan of eggs over medium. The eggs were underdone and I had to eat around the uncooked whites. Also my roommate requested his toast burnt (no I don't know why he hates himself) and what he got looked like it MAY have been near a toaster, but it's hard to be sure. As we were leaving we noticed a board with specials and wouldn't you know it biscuits and gravy was on there. Considering they seated us in a tiny alcove with no view of the board the waitress should have at least mentioned its existence. Second visit I got the biscuits and gravy. The gravy was delicious, but the biscuits were cold and tasted like they had been sitting out for hours. In the end my desire for gravy won and I ate it. I would've rather the whole thing sucked so I could've just...

I stopped by Jim's a little past 8am on a weekday for breakfast, where I sat at the bar (only bar and booths, no tables) and ordered the corned beef hash with poached eggs and a side of home fries. I didn't have to wait very long to get my food and the staff were very friendly. I will say that while the food was good, it was nothing extraordinary in any way. The home fries only had a little crispiness to them, and the eggs were so so. I will say however that one of the eggs pictured was overcooked and had hardly any yolk. To make up for this they gave me two additional poached eggs on the side, which was very nice, however they were under done. So while I'm glad I ate here, I won't necessarily rush back. In my humble opinion the king of breakfast in Rochester is still Jines. PS: This place is CASH ONLY! They do have an ATM in the entrance, but it charges you $3 to make a withdrawal.

!!! PLEASE READ AND BE AWARE !!! I don't like leaving bad reviews ever but I simply cannot ignore this. Upon eating my food, I watched the cook rub his face and hair excessively and then proceed to touch food without gloves or washing hands. I work in a kitchen and was very distraught by this lack of serve safe knowledge displayed, especially when you work in an open kitchen. I tried to brush it off since I had already ordered and enjoyed my food, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I got a sandwich to go and upon taking one bite at home, found one of the dudes hairs in my food and almost threw up. Would love to chalk it up to he was tired or having a bad day, but watching him not pay any mind to what he had just done did not sit right with me and leaves me to believe he does this regularly. Be careful who you allow to make your food.

While visiting Rochester, my girlfriend and I had breakfast at Jim's On Main. Something about the name made me want to eat here. The owner was our server, and she was so pleasant to talk with and provided exceptional service. She suggested I order from the Signature Items, so I had the Calista Frittata. It has ham, bacon, sausage, and I picked feta cheese mixed with home fries and two eggs. I had a side of meat hot sauce that added some spice to my meal. It was outstanding. If you are in Rochester, I highly recommend Jim's On Main.
