First time for my visit this lovely gallery. Congratulations Emiliano Diaz! State of the City exhibit was amazing! The Rochester architecture series was astounding! The other artist, both upstairs and downstairs had some amazing work as well. $2 entry fee for non members was well worth the evening. Had a $3 chardonnay and had a lovely moment. One exhibit was a video, I stood in a room for a little and was entranced by the projected videos on the wall. Great exhibit on graffiti and community ties to local community.

I've been a relatively new member, but my sense is that RoCo is doing great things for the arts in Rochester. The new Welcome! series of artist talks is wonderful for creatives to connect. I also like bringing my son to visit shows to talk about concepts and interpretations. The annual members show December through February is impressive and the 6x6 show in April is fun, both spending a broad variety of artists.

We showed up for a 6x6 Procrastination party Hosted by Teaching Artists Roc. What a wonderful experience and a beautiful space. Previously we had attended outdoor exhibits during Fringe Festival. What a wonderful space!

Came to 6x6 fundraiser and it was a great time! I stayed downstairs and got to see all the amazing art featured in this exhibition! They told me there were studios upstairs but I was with a group of friends and family, didn’t want to get too far. So much to see! I didn’t know it was $5 to enter but good to know for next time, there was a line to get in we were standing out the door. Small gallery with small rooms attached for the tons of people cycling in and around but I liked the bathroom they were clean besides one of the two toilets in woman’s bathroom was broken but they were attending to it. Great time I recommend but be aware of surroundings in this area when leaving at night,...

Ever hear that story about how engineers can't figure out how bumblebees fly but no one told the bumblebee? No one has told Rochester Contemporary that it has too small a base in Rochester, and yet the museum now owns the building. The Frederick Douglass Monument has a date to be moved to a prominent location in Rochester, again. RoCo has served as a workshop for exploring the implications of that act and deepening the relationship of the city with Douglass. I have heard everyone who wants one can have a little Frederick bronze in their front yard soon. That's...

Under normal circumstances RoCo is an eclectic place to stop in and visit. A minor donation gets you in the doors.

COVID-19 has put a temporary damper on in person visits but it won't keep Bleu and the gallery down.

Better yet, become a member. You can stop in and peruse current collections.

Their 6x6 sale is their major fundraiser and features thousands of donated art available for sale at $20 apiece. They also have complementary frames available for sale, too.

Located on East Ave downtown it's a great place to unwind...
