Mamasan's Noodle Caboodle Restaurant — Restaurant in City of Rochester

I have debated over leaving this review for the last few days. But I am still so disappointed and shocked by our treatment that I really felt I have no choice. I'll try to make this as short as possible. My husband picked up dinner to bring home to Irondequoit. While in line the employee asked if I wanted Vietnamese Phat Thai or Thai Phat Thai. For thirty years I have gone to Mamasan's and just ordered Phat Thai. Since he didn't know and I didn't know it was explained that one has broad noodles and one thin round noodles (don't ask me which is which -- after all this I still don't know). My husband called me while in line and I explained i wanted the one with thin round noodles. I heard him repeat this to the employee. When he got home, they were the broad noodles. We packed up our food and trudged back. Mistakes happen. I can deal with this. I was unprepared to have this same employee continually assert to my husband that he never stated which he wanted. I don't know what she expected to accomplish by telling us that there are two different kinds etc etc etc. Regardless, a simple "no problem, let me fix this" would have been the end of the conversation. That was not the case. Instead of just taking the food and bringing the right order she came over to the table, again started explaining that she didn't hear him specify and then, (yes, I was getting exasperated by this point) started to tell us that she didn't know why I was getting worked up, it's just a meal (her actual words!) and how we've all had a long day. I did continue to mutter to myself and to my husband that this was ridiculous and eventually she brought the order. I believe I said "this is how they treat customers" she replied, "yes, I don't care " Still being condescending and rude, I told her that after 30 years of patronizing her restaurant she single handedly made me never want to come back. Her response was "Good, I wouldn't want you to come back" Now I'm done. But she wasn't. She decided it would be a good idea to start to attack me personally. I have a black heart, I am a terrible angry person, on and on. All said with the intention of the rest of the patrons hearing and staring at me. And they did. So there you are. When I walked in the door no one greeted me or acknowledge that I was standing in front of the counter. There was an old white male that was standing behind the counter at the cash register he was directly in front of me. He did not once greeted me nor say one word to me. I ordered springrolls and pho. Not the typical yummy delish meaty springrolls I'm used to. It only had shrimps, veggies, & noodles. The server had the nerves to tell me that it typically come with only shrimps. I'm like ummmm ok women I wasn't born yesterday. Dipping sauce was runny and far from being authentic. Its the type of sauce that you would eat with balut or in a lettuce wrap. Its pretty sad for me to say that Wegmans has better springrolls and sauce. Don't waste your money you're better off going to Wegmans or other Vietnamese resturants. Pho broth was ok the meat that came in the soup was tough. In a nutshell I wouldn't go back! Service was very very very slow. Waited 30 min for a server to acknowledge our table. We patiently waited and waited and waited til we couldn't wait any longer before we die of hunger. I went from hungry to hangry. Finally someone came to our table after we waved our hands in the air to take our orders. My friend and I had lunch and the owner intentionally watering plant behind my chair. That’s make us uncomfortable to had conversation. 10 minutes after he watered the plant, he literally asked us to leave because it’s dinner time. And he escorted us to helped open the door. As I walked slowly because I had lower back pain he followed behind me until I got close to my car. But before I open the car door I found that someone scratched my car so badly. I was so upset. My friend and I were trying to figure it out what we gonna do? This owner stood up behind us and stated with defense that will never happened and he would see if happen in his place. Then why he didn’t see someone scratched my car?? He always stand up in front of the door like security guard. And I asked if I could see in from his camera to find out who did it. He stated that the camera it’s only for their own security. He also said that the camera did not recorded and we can not see flash back.??? Smell like fishy. I will never go back to this place again.
