This was a nice spot to grab a bite after the lilac festival, or just if you’re in the area. There’s a nice selection of bar food. I had the wings, they were cooked nicely and juicy, though despite being buffalo garlic flavor, they didn’t have any heat at all. Mom got the shrimp appetizer and loved it, it looked great. I got a side of fries for us to split. I don’t know why I ordered a margarita in a beer spot, I did this to myself. I enjoy beer, I should’ve had one. I got excited about reading from the menu they had tajin on the rim of my margarita (many Mexican spots will have this), so I ordered that. It’s a jalapeño one but it was so tangy or sour. Not the tajin, just the drink itself. Next time, I’ll get a beer, I’ve learned my lesson. The women’s restroom is on the second floor, men’s is on the first floor. If you’re a lady and have a disability, call ahead, they may have an accessible one, or not, I’m not sure. For anyone that this may be a concern for, I’d recommend calling ahead to inquire. The inside of this place by the bar was pretty, the ceilings were vaulted and wooden, the have a little train that goes around but up high above the bar, much like Wegmans does, or at least some locations. It looks nice and definitely a great spot to catch a game. There were televisions all around the oval shaped central bar, but also at each table which is great.

The Distillery Restaurant Rochester is definitely a great place to go for good old hardy delicious food, a wide variety of drink options and lots of TVs to enjoy multiple games. It is the perfect place to meet friends or business associates. Their staff is consistently friendly and responsive. Food & Drink The Distillery Restaurant Rochester wings with the options of fried or grilled and a wide variety of sauce options make them my favorite wings in Rochester or Buffalo. I personally prefer them grilled with one of the sweat spicy or garlic parm sauces. Sometimes I split the order with different sauces when I can’t decide. They also have big burgers, pizza, tacos, salads, pasta, pitas, sandwiches, fish fries, etc. etc. Oh yes, and they have lots of beers to choose from, along with good wines and great mixed cocktails Convenient Location: The Distillery is located in the South Wedge close to U of R, College Town, MCC, Park Ave, I390 and The Center City. With expanded parking across the street, there is seldom need to park on the street. Atmosphere: The design of the building is pretty cool with a large bar and various levels of cozy booths and tables to meet friends or have a casual business meeting. It also has a deck when weather permits outside dining or drinks.

I visited The Distillery on Mt Hope last night, and it was a very disturbing experience. First thing I noticed while waiting to be seated, my wife and I were in line with many other people. As we were being seated, we were taken to the back area near the kitchen where other people were also seated. I declined a center table because we preferred a booth which left the center table open. With the amount of people that were waiting, I was sure someone would be seated there. The area were in was all african american, and some may say coincidence but I disagree. All the people waiting in line were Caucasian. None of the were seated in the back. About 30min later another black couple walks in and where are they seated? In the back with the rest of us. Honestly, it felt segregated. Needless to say they aren't the only restaurants using this "Sit Them Together" code. I ordered a buffalo Chicken wrap, and as you can see from the pic, the only thing I didnt get was chicken (the chunks are Bleu Cheese). Its was just horrible.

On the first day I'd been outside of my wheelchair in over a year, i went to use the restroom, and asked if i could have the key to the handicap restroom. I was met with snarky response by the manager and was told to go up the stairs to the womens restroom. I made it clear i needed to use the accessible bathroom, and still gestured and told to go up the staircase. Finally, i was allowed into the accessible restroom, but it was so inaccessible (the rails were high and so far back, i couldn't get momentum to get up) i was injured trying to get up. Only a person with incredible uper-body strength could lift themselves from this toilet to transfer back into wheelchair, or get up in general. Because of how the door works, if you go into the restroom in a wheelchair, you are immediately trapped with no way to turn around or get out. Our poor treatment is a disgrace that deserves a lawsuit to be honest.

overall a decent experience but a few negatives for me. pros: great service, great flavor, chill atmosphere. cons: staff either didn’t wear masks or wear them properly despite there being a sign on the door requiring them. maybe follow your own rules? makes me so uncomfortable given the amount of people they interact with daily, and our server was unmasked. the fries in the poutine were pretty underdone and not good. they give you so much though that at least we could eat the more cooked ones before we realized how undercooked the majority of them were. my shrimp scampi or the bread or both were a bit too garlicky and ended up making me feel moderately unwell later. all in all, would maybe visit again but probably only if they actually adhere to covid-19 safety/preventative practices like wearing masks at the very least.
